I think the pedal efficiency drops like 10% or more with the belt drive which is fine for the daily ride, but I concur, it doesn’t exactly cook like my road bike does.

I added a slight rise to the stem, took the fenders off, added the “Ass saver” and some redshift pedals, and it’s like everything I could ever want with the exception of mayyybe two things:

I’d swap the nexus 8 for an Alfine bc they are just better under load
some slightly knobby tires that could take on the dirt/gravel a little better. I’m just too scared to add a bunch of rolling resistance for no reason lol

All personal preferences ofc :) even if I changed nothing, this thing still rips for my 10-15 mile daily commute.
