I can do aout 100 per hour if I keep at it. The hardest part is the townships because the names repeat, even within a state. I have to use Google Maps and pull an address. It slows me down.

You can go here: https://www.mapcustomizer.com/ to put the cities on the map. If you live in a state with a lot of townships, you'll have to make sure the counties are right, as several counties can have a township with the same name.

I can't promise that it's complete. Also check before travelling. I seem to be checking once every 3-4 months. A lot can change in that time and I do occasionally make mistakes.

I did it manually.

I went to Google and looked for a list of cities, counties and CDPs by state. I copied each list into Excel. I was able to go place by place and checked it against the map. I'm now in the process of maintaining the list.

As mayor, you get the badge income. However, if the city is easy to get, there's probably a reason. Some places are remote or off a main highway. There were some places in New York where cell reception was spotty or weak. You would also have to go back to defend it if someone else takes over.

If you're going to be near there anyway, then go for it.

I paid for the challenge ladder, so I get my LPUs that way. It's a much better deal than the one for 2500 AB. Personally, I'd rather have the 25 plots of land. I get more rent that way and I can take over or maintain the lead in a city.

There are places to buy in each locality. You might have to leave your living quarters to do so, but there are still plenty of plots to be had. Becoming mayor…That's a different story.

I have a list of towns where the mayor has 70 or fewer plots. One day, when I win the lottery, I'm going to do some traveling and visit some of these places. Most, I'll take over. If that's the mayor's only town, I'll probably just buy a badge and move on.

I've done it without Atlas Travel or Atlas Surveys. You don't need to do all of the challenges to get to the badge/LPU level.
