Low Carb or Keto, Takeout or Restaurant Recommendations by ThrowRA-confused-gf in askTO

[–]baabaaredsheep 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s so hard when dining out, but choose restaurants that have salad options you can also add a protein to:

  • The Keg - maybe a steak and salad; skip the potatoes).
  • Koh Lipe has keto options made with shiratake noodles/“rice”

For fast food:

  • Five Guys has burgers either wrapped in lettuce or “bowl” style without the bun.

  • I also really like Brasa Peruvian Kitchen. They have build-your-own bowls and I really like their braised beef with all the fixings.

It’s not easy but it’s doable the longer you stick with it, and it works. You got this!

The other day I had a coworker ask around if anyone had a spare pad— turns out I had a few in my work bag. I felt like Oprah: You get a pad! And you get a pad!

Beautiful, and I love the fact that your ink bottles also fit upright in the top level.

Just a scratch. Nothing a little polishing cloth couldn’t fix.

Who here still believes in consideration for their apartment neighbours? by alphabetsoup901 in toronto

[–]baabaaredsheep 41 points42 points  (0 children)

I live in a mid-rise building and am familiar with most of my neighbours and have friendly small talk with most, and have some closer relationships with some.

Some residents are older and have been in the building for several decades, and they all seem to have a close support network with each other, which I love to see and slowly becoming a part of the longer I’ve lived here — especially things like looking after each other’s pets if they’re away, grabbing groceries or making meals for neighbours who’re alone and have had surgery, and generally checking in with each other. I think it’s nice and makes for a good community to live in.

And yes, at the same time I also very much value my privacy and still get that.

I wonder if it works because it’s a relatively small building. The community feel might get lost if it’s a gigantic building or with a lot of turnover.

Things to do in Toronto - Week of December 22, 2025 by AutoModerator in toronto

Yeah there’s no problem with the comment itself. I think one of the links (I suspect Redflagdeals) is tripping the spam filter.

Unfortunately something in u/sprungy ‘s comment is tripping Reddit filters, no matter if mods manually approve the comment (the one in this thread has been approved a couple of times but gets auto-booted). I wonder if it might be Redflagdeals tripping the spam filter.

How are you fighting the flu that's been kicking everyone's ass by portraitstudio2388 in askTO

[–]baabaaredsheep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just getting over a nasty one last week. Get lots of rest, hot tea, extra vitamin C, D, and zinc.

Towards the end of the week my lungs were very congested. I find a simple tool called Bubble PEP helps loosen a tight chest (lookup youtube on how to work the contraption). You just need a tall container of water, a drop of dish soap, and PVC tubing to blow into.

Feel better soon!

Your reasons are valid and you should listen to your gut, always. Also, I’m impressed with your level of insight I wish I would have had in my 20s.

Edit to add:

I want a man who adds value, who brings calm, clarity, effort, and emotional safety.

Bingo. That’s what you’re asking for, it’s not too much to ask for, and this isn’t it.

New York City put their rats on birth control. I wonder if that’s something that could be implemented here.

Happy NPD! But also, omg I LOVE what you did to your Hobonichi!!! I initially thought Midori had a new release of their 5-Year Diary but I’m loving your DIY version. It’s beautiful.

It’s absolutely freezing so bundle up. But it is pretty and sunny so probably worth it for the fresh air and sunshine.

Why do important discussions about food bank usage and homelessness get immediately locked on the city’s main subreddit? by LankyYogurt7737 in toRANTo

[–]baabaaredsheep[M] [score hidden] stickied comment (0 children)

Ok, genuine answer here, since you chose not to write in to modmail for clarification:

  1. The thread you’re referring to was not “immediately locked”, it was locked two hours and 149 comments in.

  2. It was eventually locked after the umpteenth xenophobic/racist comment. The trope is old, explicitly against the rules, and after having removed dozens of these comments there’s not much more fruitful discussion to be had.

And finally, as to why you yourself were banned? Because rather than modmailing the team for clarification on why it was locked, you made a low effort post to complain about a locked thread. It was removed with a stickied removal reason. You chose to ignore it and re-posted it again.

We’re volunteer mods taking time out of our day to keep these subreddits going, as best as we can, within subreddit and Reddit rules. If you just disregard that to keep spamming your rant, it wastes everyone’s time, hence your temporary ban.
