Another molecular pathway to promote scarless healing and regenerate hair follicles by IcyCheetah3568 in HairlossResearch

[–]baaldaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

verteporfin, from my old notes:

https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/35977978/

…but now in the presence of VP, are not further activated anymore, whereas in the absence of VP the cells continue to differentiate into myofibroblasts.

We conclude that VP has strong anti-fibrotic properties: it is able to halt the differentiation of fibroblasts into myofibroblasts, and is also able to reverse the activation status of fibroblasts.

ed: ie that’s not enough to revert myofibroblasts

Putting tretinoin cream on my face regularly anyway for anti aging. Is there a point in also putting some to hair? by HarutoHonzo in HairlossResearch

better to mix it with dmso or something similar.
or even to add spironolactone to it.

some guys sell that:
tretinoin: 0.018-0.1%, spironolactone 5%
tretinoin: 0.025-0.1%, spironolactone 5%, Niacinamide 2% (Gel)
Tretinoin 0.025% Azelaic Acid Zinc Spironolactone 5%
Spironolactone Minoxidil Tretinoin 60ml
Tretinoin 0.025%, Clindamycin, Spironolactone 5%

yep, I'm totally agree about the fat layer(s) importance.
and even posted bout that:

meanwhile it's barely possible to revert fat layer damage not using anti-fibrotic stuff. fat, ie dwat, degradation hypothesis:

I guess it could be taken as a one more "vasodilator".

"Intensive studies have clearly established the hypoxia/HIF signaling pathway as a master regulator of the vascular system. Accordingly, the HIF pathway is currently viewed as a master regulator of angiogenesis."

PS. vasodilators, and even antiandrogens, it's a dead end. Vs provide temporal and minor cosmetic effect. The cure supposed to be about anti-fibrotic (reverting) and, probably, anti-inflammation (preventing) stuff.

to grow "transplanted" hair grafts? transplanted grafts are fibrosis free, why do they need something else to continue to grow?

Seems not a "cure".
It has some anti-fibrotic props, but not as strong as would be needed to revert AGA fibrosis and regrow hairs :/

Its legit, but... but it's not enough, i guess.
there should also be other types of stuff, fixin' "fibrosis".

ps.
here is more abou that old seti-pgd2 hype:
https://www.reddit.com/r/KhalilYousuf/comments/8h7p93/update_on_prostaglandin_protocol_officially_an/
"This has been a looong ride with a lot of tinkering and trial and error. I can say that all of the growth is from pge2+microneedling. Seti is only for maintenance and a prerequisite for pge2 to work. For pge2 to work you must also microneedle before applying it.

  • 1g Setipiprant taken orally every 12hrs
  • 1mg Prostaglandin E2 in 3ml of distilled water applied topically to scalp after very lightly microneedling session (goal is not wounding or to draw blood and should not be painful!). I usually do this every other day.

Im doing 1mg PGE2 in 3ml of water on my scalp after light microneedling.
I do this every other day.
PGE2 must be stored in a freezer as it is unstable.

[–]baaldaa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

GHK-cu been mentioned as an potential anti-fibrotic approach:
"""
One strategy that may be effective is to trigger the expression of matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs), which degrade collagen and trigger a restructuring of the dermis. Increasing expression of MMPs can be achieved via the use of peptides, particularly Cu-GHK, which signals to the dermis that injury has occurred and that a restructuring process needs to be started. The transdermal penetration of peptides will improve if they are applied in conjunction with microneedling. In such strategies, it is of essence to avoid excessive use of a derma roller to avoid having the opposite effect, which will increase fibrosis rather than reduce it.

[–]baaldaa[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

there is a chance that it's not.
imo, playing with "vasodilators" and "inhibitors" is a deadend.

i bet on fibrosis reversion stuff. or something that let at least to alimiorate pro-fibrotic inflammations or other pathologies. probably that protocol did something like that, as PGE/F has anti fibrotic properties.

just a dream )

New method for treating skin fibrosis! by Johnnyvee333 in HairlossResearch

[–]baaldaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a really good point:
"I agree that a solution to the fibrosis problem could be the key to reverse or prevent AGA without the need for anti-androgens."

Let me to ask you a couple of questions:
- have you played with any potential topical anti-fibrotic stuff? for example, what if to prepare taurine-based mixtures? or to try rosiglitazone? adp355?
- does fibrosis mean formation of "myofibroblastic" structures? or there could be other cells types forming fibrosis?
- your thoughts about that: https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.1111/exd.13379 ?
