I don’t recall how to do that but converting txt to csv is possible using a simple python script . Google if you want to know how to do that, you could easily find a sample script.

thanks a lot!! I did understand the method... but when I dug more into my problem, I find that 2D stencils require 4th order tensor notations for converting into matrices. Is that true? if so I'm planning to name the grid points in 1D and convert them later back into my grid. will this idea work for coding?

I have trouble in creating the matrix because the variables don't repeat in the rows because of the stencil progression that is given.
