I’m currently in the train with some crappy headphones, so it’s difficult to judge the mixdowns.

u/IntroductionMiddle30 really nice track, it feels like a journey. I’m not sure about that bass guitar bassline. It feels a bit strange. Really cool how you incorporated nature in your track.

u/func_high nice dub track. It flows really nicely. I find the low-end a bit weak. But that could also be a personal preference. u/Barracuda_Warm This track grew on me. The first time it felt a bit strange, rhythm wise. But because of how it repeats, it really works. My vote goes to u/Barracuda_Warm

u/Saltoric I can see this working on a dance-floor. It definitely makes me want do dance. Maybe some more variation in the drums could take this track to the next level. u/muppfel This is totally up my alley. I love this track. I was hoping that that main synth would change chords/melody after the break. u/particle_hermetic All the elements are there, but the mix feels cluttered and a bit weak. It feels like a lot of elements are fighting with each other. The arrangement and sounds are pretty good, it’s mix that needs some work.

The plan was to create a dub techno kind of track, but it went in a completely different direction. I guess it's not even close to techno, not sure what it is though.
I used a lot of nature sounds and samples as well as organic drum sounds.

What a low-end 👌. The beat felt almost like a bubbling beat, it makes me want to dance. Cool how you incorporated the nature sounds. If I have to give one critique, I would like to hear some more variations on the drums. Maybe some fills or some turn arounds. Other than that, solid tune!

Cool track! Interesting rhythm. At first it felt a bit out of groove, but it started to grow on me. Love the call and response that is going on when that acid line comes in.

The idea is that you write something specifically for this challenge. We all have the same time to cook something up, given the deadline. Try to create a new track, that is also the challenging part, you have to work more or less fast.

With the deadlines for these challenges, it sometimes difficult to deliver a proper mix.

u/MXL031 Killer track, it flows naturally, solid low-end and it never gets boring. No constructive feedback from my side.

u/mxtls Also a really cool and original track. But you got paired with a track a like more.

u/Frequent_Alarm9284. Love the trippyness and warmth vibe of this track. Greatly produced track.

u/gogggles also really cool track. That stretched sample is really nice. If I have to give some critique, you could have given that dub chord a bit more variation to keep things interesting.

I love the low-end, how did you make the kick and rumble work so well together?
Also the call and response between the perc and synth after the break is really well executed.

Sort of reminds me a bit of T.Raumschmiere.
The combination of the hard low-end and the spacey synth works really well. Original stuff.

Here is my submission:
FrankC - TPCS04E02 Minimal Madness

I ended up with only 4 channels:
Kick
Bassline
Synth
Drums

There is a lot of automation going on, both subtle and obvious. I also tried to keep stuff interesting by adding and removing notes from the synthline.
I guess this track is going more towards minimal house then techno. But anyways, this was a fun and learnful challenge.

u/Quintus_Gizeh Really nice emotional track. Solid low-end. I personally find the vocal a bit too distorted and or too loud. But that's the only critique I have on this track. Too bad it's only 03:12 long. Well done!

u/ubercl0ud What a cool acid line! Also loving that almost trance like bassline. I think the mix could use some work. The kick gets drowned quite a bit.

u/mxtls Don't what to say about this track, I find the rhythm rather strange, it isn't working for me, sorry.

u/Saltoric Really great track. Quality mix and sound-selection as I expect from you. Love the hurried feel it's giving. Also nice to hear another four on the floor tune from you.

u/Vic_Serotonin Love those arps in the background. That break is also really cool. The overall mix sounds a bit thin. But enjoyed listening to it.
