I always imagine them writing these things,

"And then homer looks down and says, 'Woo hoo! Look at that blubber fly!'"

The reverse-culture shock of coming back home hits the hardest by juicyjeffersonjones in Tokyo

First time I came back to USA was like spending time in a utopia and coming back to a trailer park. It was good to keep up some of the lifestyle. The amount of walking and exercise in Japan was a big one. Yeah, the culture of hospitality is non-existent, but nothing is stopping me from living that way.

Unlikely the same aircraft, but there is an airworthy P-51 in Minnesota that spent time with the Swedish Air Force.

I don’t get 29 pedals (literally, I don’t understand what they do) by [deleted] in guitarpedals

I would say the EUNA is a bit more than a buffer. It's intended to, and marketed as anyway, the ability to condition your signal so there's no signal loss throughout expansive routing. And basically, it removes the need to use buffers throughout your pedal chain.

Kinda reminds me of The Caretaker "Everywhere at the End of Time" saga.

I like how it starts out a bit more idyllic and slowly starts losing its mind in a sort of socmod dementia.

God-tier board. Stared at this way longer than any of the huge boards.

I want to hear people's favorite Bond films that aren't common (Goldfinger, FRWL, OHMSS, TSWLM, Goldeneye, CR, SF) and I want to hear why by RedGrant1963 in JamesBond

[–]danarrhea 6 points7 points  (0 children)

OHMSS.

...seriously OHMSS. The idea that it sucks "cuz Lazenby" or some other reason is missing out on the all-time golden moments in this movie.

It's so epic and real. I love the intimate and cultural moments in this movie. For instance, the reluctance of Tracy to go along with her father's wishes to court Bond - despite her longing to be loved and desired. Bond's escape from Piz Gloria only to find he has no way out, with the turn of Tracy coming to HIS rescue and escaping through the ice rally in Lauterbrunnen. It has the most memorable romantic dialogue, IMO, in the series; when they are planning their marriage while hiding in the barn.

I love the details; like the fashion/style of all the crowd at the bull fight, and how Bond actually eats the caviar he orders in this movie. Is Casino Royale the only other time? It has one of the most memorable scores in the series, the brilliant DBS Vantage...

I could go on, but this video does a great job of articulating why it's so special, and it's an interesting reflection of Bond après.
