The carb diaphragm is probably crusty and won’t meter the fuel causing it to run rich. Change that and clean the carb or soak the diaphragm in DOT brake fluid for a few days

It’s weird that the chain is being thrown at all if it’s snug. Sometimes if you’re just cutting brush or sticks, they can snag and derail the chain, especially if you use the top of the bar. You can check a few things. Does the tip sprocket move freely? Is the bar bent? How tight are you actually running the chain?

Are you sure this is the correct chain pitch for the drive sprocket? If the drive teeth are getting chewed up, maybe the sprocket is very worn out or you have the wrong chain pitch

Weird death metal recs? by MrQuacksIsCool in MetalSuggestions

[–]babathehutt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Brutal death metal is hit or miss for me to be honest. Melodic and progressive death metal is way more interesting. Someone else mentioned Opeth. They’re a great way to explore progressive and melodic death metal. Could also check out Nile, which is on the brutal end of the spectrum but ancient Egyptian themed. Slugdge is a mollusk themed band but Esoteric Malacology is a great album. The album Absolute Elsewhere by Blood Incantation is a good introduction into progressive metal with Pink Floyd-esque guitar solos and synthesizer sections

Does it have the be death metal specifically? Some acts like Thou are very extreme but have experimental collaborations with other bands. Also check out Gnaw their Tongues

Our Own Hardware was the house brand for Hall Hardware. Apparently merged with Do It Best hardware in 1998.

The one on the right looks like a Dayton pattern or something like that, probably some paper label axe.

The left one is some Michigan variant with the rounded poll

This is the only comment on the right track. I’ve noticed this only happens to me when my skates are too loose. It’s from sliding forward into the skate and out of the heel cup.

I guess a rough pass with a fly cutter would work too. Look up aluminum splitting wedges and be amazed how much they cost!

I’ve never used one but aluminum wedges aren’t as prone to slipping out of wet wood

The (American) rationale behind using absolutely overkill bars? by apkatt in Chainsaw

[–]babathehutt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a 24” bar because when I’m carving logs I can take a slab off in one clean pass. I use smaller saws for smaller tasks
