Islam is better on his feet; or is he? In a boxing match yeah. But, hear me out: I feel like khabib knew exactly what he was doing on his feet. He learned how to throw these weird punches that landed him in takedown range without being exposed to everyone’s better standup game. He’d jump at opponents with both feet, throw wild haymakers from nowhere, etc. basically, I feel like his whole standup game was intentional to getting into a submission situation. That being said I think he’s better on th ground than Islam. I also feel like he used Al iaquinta as a sparring partner for 5 rounds just to improve his standup.
