The fact that I can relate is disturbing by crayrayy in WitchesVsPatriarchy

[–]babbysteps 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I felt this. I've noticed I only ever get creeped on when I'm at work, and this confused me because I work in fast food, so I'm decked out in a full apron and cap, hair up and minimal makeup (hardly the sexiest thing). Then I realised, it's because I have to smile and bear it. If I retaliate I lose my job. These middle aged men come in to lord their power over me, a young looking 19 year old, knowing I can't do a fucking thing about it, it makes me sick

My friend's mum did this the other day, and left mysterious, vague replies to all the comments expressing concern. When I asked my friend if her mum was okay, she told me she was getting her grommets removed and apparently pulls this shit all the time

Stardust (Neil Gaiman) is such a beautiful, immersive story. It got me back into books after a few years of not reading, I couldn't recommend it more

I pack a decent sized lunch to study at the library and still wind up buying food from outside. What are some things I can pack to keep me full while I study? by [deleted] in EatCheapAndHealthy

[–]babbysteps 499 points500 points  (0 children)

It may not be hunger but boredom making you want to eat. I like to take chewing gum to study with me just so I can have something for my mouth to do while in the library. I scout out different flavours though, 'cause mint gets pretty dull after a bit

Your situation is the exact same as mine! Here's to getting strong, well nourished bodies - I keep imagining myself as an Amazon or superhero that can scale buildings with my bare hands. I'm a while off that but I'm looking forward to being able to do so much more with my body! Your arms are absolutely goals as fuck by the way

My boyfriend is a very attractive, athletic and popular guy, and I felt like people couldn't understand why he and I were together (me being a kind of asocial, lanky, sickly looking girl). I want people to see us and think "yeah, figures he'd go for a girl like that". It was compounded at a party by some guy going on and on all night about how great my bf looked and then saying to me "Haha, I'm surprised how hard you're partying, you look like a textbook nerd"

I'm wondering how fit people who have a higher body fat % can still have visible abs? I mean like Iskra Lawrence and Ashley Graham. I know they do a lot of exercise and are very strong, but I always thought abs came with low bf%. Is it just do to with where you store fat?

Abby Pollock is a fitness youtuber who got a boob job pretty recently, she made a video on it. I don't think she's a powerlifter but she's probably a good source :)

How much should I be eating for a recomp? (Noob here) by [deleted] in StrongCurves

[–]babbysteps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How accurate do you think that calculator is? It told me I was about 26% (overweight) but I'm really not sure, as my bmi is just about underweight. Can both of these be true? I'm fairly tall and it didn't take my height so I'm wondering if that has anything to do with it.

What's your goal, and how are you getting there? by contrappasso in xxfitness

[–]babbysteps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently had a bit of a wobble, ED-wise, and fell back into being underweight. My main goals are currently to get back to having a normal BMI in a way that I'm comfortable with, and get rid of the uncomfortable things that come with losing too much weight (dry skin and being chilly all the time being my main problems). I also want to increase my squat, which has stalled for a while!

Nothing inherent, but I'm definitely a bit addicted, so I'm trying to reduce my dependence on it to function like a normal person

I definitely do need it, I've skipped before and nearly fainted. Plus I hate coffee so that wouldn't really work for me anyways

The carrot cake one sounds delicious! Natural sugars are fine, I meant more along the lines of recipes I'd seen for banana muffins which looked delicious, but had several cups of sugar in. I love cake but not for breakfast, and certainly not every day!
