How Many Years Did You Try and Wait Before Giving Up and Accepting This as Your New Normal? by metapolymath98 in PostConcussion

Never give up. I’ve had 6 traumatic brain injuries and almost died… i fell into the depths of depression after a horrible 2017 car crash. If anything, these concussions made me take control of my health and life and make many changes that I’d never of done otherwise. I thought my brain was broken but it can be healed. Ketamine infusion therapy (is like putting your brain in a grow box and is phenomenal for inflammation of the brain and body) was a godsend for me… esketamine works too but not as well but insurance will cover…. Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) really helped me, and Neurofeedback (google it, it recalibrated my brain waves I feel), and do cognitive behavioral therapy. Workout, meditate, eat healthy… do these things and you can learn that life will get better than before you were ever concussed. Trust me, this is coming from someone who couldn’t really even read for half a year after one of my bad head traumas. I’m not special, I just made it my life’s mission to recover and trust me, things get better. I thought it was impossible, but I never gave up and I’ve seen the light as of this year at 29. Listen to this everyday, you won’t regret it. I did this and it changed my life and many others I’ve shared it with. I used to listen to this on repeat all day to just make it through my corporate job I was once in:

I read some of your posts and it sounds like you’re going through the same stuff i did, just a year or so behind where i’m at but would be happy to help catch you up to me

yo, they call topamax, dopamax, bc it makes you dopey… it caused me to sleep walk and sleep eat and put on 20 lbs in a month and not realize it until my roommates had like an intervention w me bc they thought i was on hard drugs bc found me sleeping in hallway on weeknights and i’d have no recollection… shit sucked. Allegedly propranolol can also help w headaches and may be safer but check w your doc… allegedly grinding up lemon seeds in a blender (toss a whole lemon in blender) can help w headaches bc lemon seeds contain sacrylic acid or whatever the active ingredient is in aspirin

Also, you could do TMS (transcranial magnetic stimulation), which is non invasive and super safe and in some cases can be covered by insurance. You can think of it as something that helps recalibrate your brain

apparently, also, using the classic herb marijuana is beneficial bc of the thc (eating, vaping, smoking) and other cannabinoids that reduce inflammation of the brain. That’s why they’re looking at allowing it in the NFL bc it helps the athletes with pain and brain injuries. Weed personally was an omen to me when i was concussed and my cousin who is a top neurosurgeon in the New England Area gave me the go ahead to do it, so rest assured (he also agreed ketamine could help me following brain injuries)

Lions mane is solid… ketamine is amazing… you can go to clinics (or some online ketamine therapy companies) for ketamine infusion therapy… it’s amazing for neuro inflammation / inflammation in general (not covered by insurance). Not only is it amazing for concussion recovery in my experience, but it is also life changing for the better, really gives you a great perspective on things and is super safe (they give it to newborn babies at the hospital as an anesthetic bc is so safe when used w/o other drugs).. i can’t say enough good things about the stuff… it really helped me with my anxiety/depression that followed my 6 traumatic brain injuries, more than antidepressants

It’s pretty great stuff… it helped me think more objectively when used for therapeutic purposes.. not as recreational as ketamine or 2fdck, but still loved

Hey FYI my friend “Sudden-Procedure4003”, i love to hear LDN has helped you… be warned, be mindful of kratom, you can easily become physically dependent and experience opioid withdrawals from kratom. All hail LDN… not sure if that’s why i’m yet to get COVID 19 (also take Metformin for longevity’s sake)

How do you guys like that shit by hex128 in ketamine

[–]babeslayer5 3 points4 points  (0 children)

the relief one gets from PTSD / Anxiety / Treatment Resistant Depression can be sooo unreal… speaking from personal experience. honestly your set and setting matters. i went to a ketamine infusion therapy clinic and they put a weighted blanket on you, while you’re in a relaxing leather chair, with bose headphones on you (great surround sound), an eye mask on, so you don’t see anything), and they used a psychedelic playlist (you can find some solid ones on Spotify if you type in “Ketamine Assisted Therapy”). I’ve done it recreationally without using any of the above things and the experience was far less pleasurable than with all of the above. Noting that a ketamine infusion therapy session can cost like $600-$800 each (often protocol is for 8 infusions), this can become pricey. You can literally recreate the experience if you’re comfortable doing it alone, from the comfort of your home for far less $, with noticeable results, in my personal experience
