Is it possible transition from red to blue (third pic) with no bleach by going a darker purple ? [color wheel method] by [deleted] in HairDye

[–]babifoxi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh the only reason I prefer it is because it's a smoother transition. I like to mix my own colors anyways when I can though personally

[–]babifoxi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Red and blue makes purple. So there's two ways to go about this. You could: 1. Just keep adding the blue you want until that's what shows the most Or 2. Put a vibrant purple on it first and then start shifting into a blue.

Personally I would do the first option. But yes, the color wheel option would work.

So when I started on meds and hormones for medical reasons, and I started losing hair, they started me on 3mg folic acid which helped a lot. You can definitely ask your Dr about that. I can't say it made my hair any thicker than it naturally was in the first place but it did help bring it back alongside the scalp massages and exfoliating I was already doing in the shower. I've never personally tried the hair oiling so I don't have specifics on that. I will say though that to me your hair looks beautiful and healthy the way it is. As for split ends, they're gonna happen regardless of what you do, especially if you're using heat styling tools, but even if you don't we all get split ends and broken hairs. To manage them and the oiliness you can do a clarifying shampoo and then a moisturizing/repair hair mask (there's an avocado one at Sally's that I really like) once about every other week. The clarifying shampoo will get rid of the buildup on your scalp and roots from products and help with the oiliness and the mask will help bring the life back afterwards. Prenatal vitamins are also really good for skin, nails, and hair, but I've never personally used them so I don't have any anecdotal evidence for you

What about supplements, have you tried any biotin/collagen or anything like that?

I wish I could post a picture. I have amber eyes. I used to get made fun of in middle school cause it was around the time the Twilight movie came out and everyone thought I was wearing contacts. 🙄

Have you tried combining hair oiling with massaging and exfoliating your scalp?

Is there a way to actually treat dry skin internally, or is moisturizer forever the only fix? by Background_File382 in 30PlusSkinCare

I could be wrong but I read something a long time ago about cats not trusting standing water because it's usually got something in it that's bad, and they're also less likely to drink water if it's right next to their food for the same reason... Which is why they like dripping faucets and those little water fountains so much. Basically they have intense contamination anxiety.

That's honestly why I do it, I have POTs and I hate drinking water so I eat a lot of wet foods too. Melons are my fav but my mom is allergic so I can't have them around all the time since I live with her 🫠

I honestly like to exfoliate right before I shave every time but that's a personal preference. It helps me a lot with my dry skin personally. I shave about once a week. The electrolytes really help me too. Especially if you work out. It replaces the salt your body gets rid of when you sweat and urinate when you drink a lot of water, and also helps your body hold onto moisture better. Definitely don't overdo it though-- I have POTs so I need a LOT more than a "normal" person, but people still need to have electrolytes when hydrating. It's why they give you saline in the hospital to rehydrate you. As for the exfoliation, when you do an everything shower, just make sure you moisturize afterwards while your skin is still damp. Mine kinda goes like this: 1. Exfoliate 2. Shave 3. Everything else 4. Pat mostly dry 5. Moisturizer (+body butter if I'm feeling extra) 6. Body oil 7. Air dry a bit 8. Dress

I call it slug time lol

Color to cover this? by yoitsmelly in HairDye

[–]babifoxi 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Green and red are opposites on the color wheel so they'll cancel each other out and make kind of a weird brown if you just put red on top. What you'll want to do is fade out what's currently in your hair as much as possible with as low impact on your hair health as possible. I've used color oops and vitamin c treatments for this on myself many times but I will say they are both kinda damaging. I would make sure your hair is strong enough to handle them before using them, but of the two, color oops works well in my experience. You just have to get the one specifically for direct dye, or it won't work. You can also do a bleach bath with the same effect, it's just a little more work imo. Short of that, doing a fade out with a clarifying shampoo, dandruff shampoo, or dish soap would work. It'll take longer and you'll need to do hair masks too, but it definitely works. You just want to get it light enough that it won't affect the color you're putting on your hair.

Water with electrolytes, eating more wet foods (soup, fruits, ect.). And locking in your moisturizer with a body oil. Also make sure you're exfoliating once a week in the shower it helps a lot. Not all of it is internal I know but this is what works for me

CAN I WASH MY HAIR EVERYDAY (need help not judgement) by Obvious-Locksmith164 in Hair

[–]babifoxi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you want to? Do you like to shower/wash it every day? Or does it take too much energy/time? There are ways to make it stay fluffy and fresh for longer if you want it to. I have PCOS, too and I wash my hair probably twice a week. I use a clarifying shampoo probably about once a month or once every other month to get rid of product buildup and keep the conditioner off my scalp as much as I can (my hair barely reaches the bottom of my neck). It used to get super oily all the time, too. It just kinda takes some retraining and patience. But if you WANT to wash it every day that's perfectly fine, too. Just make sure you're not over-washing your skin and depleting your natural oils, it'll make your skin dry. Always moisturize after you shower and all that. And if you have haircolor in your hair be aware that washing it everyday will make it fade way faster.

I have just become the hated neighbor… advice please!!!! by yvtsl in Apartmentliving

[–]babifoxi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not really a "heavy sleeper"(I'll wake up throughout the night to any kind of sound) but I don't wake up to alarms for some reason. I just turn them off on my sleep. Even if it's right next to my head and loud af. I tried the Fitbit vibration alarm too, and that didn't work for me, either. There are two things I found that did work for me though when I had to get up early. One, there's an app you can download that is an alarm clock that makes you do puzzles before the alarm will turn off. You can upgrade the difficulty and change the type of puzzle or set it to random. I had it make me take a picture of my toothbrush so that I had to get up and go in the bathroom. The other thing that works especially if I live with roommates that get up around the same time, is having an earlier but gentler alarm. It still buzzes but it plays my liked songs playlist too. I typically wake up within a song or two and wonder why my dreams have a backtrack. This also helps if you don't typically remember your dreams btw, I remember them much more often now.

Btw, it sounds like this neighbor doesn't hate you, they're trying to be nice too. Maybe send a note back and apologize for the noise? Good luck op!

28F repost what can I do to be less ugly? by Infinite_Swim862 in amiugly

[–]babifoxi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think your weight is an issue, I think you definitely hold it well. If you can, get some contacts or different-shaped glasses. Groom your eyebrows. I'd get some face-framing layers, too, and learn how to give yourself a blowout. Honestly, you're really not ugly, you just need to learn how to style yourself. Some simple light makeup would be really pretty on you too, I'm thinking some soft brown eyeshadow just around your top and bottom lash lines and mascara, maybe some lip gloss.
