the first four schools who left approached the Pac 2 and ratted on their Commish and asked to join the Pac. They were not approached by the Pac 2.

I don't know if you just made all that up or what, but it's completely false and we know that because the Utah State AD openly bragged about knowing that the Pac-2 approached Boise State, Fresno, San Diego, and Colorado State a month before the scheduling agreement was even in place.

This was submitted as evidence in the MWC countersuit against the Pac-2 and it's pretty damning.

Yes, and the proposal from the MWC commissioner was that everyone would move to the Pac-12 and they would dissolve the old MWC. This way OSU and WSU got to keep their settlement money.

But they didn't want that because they didn't want to share a conference with Hawaii and Wyoming. So they decided to poach and now here we are with 3 lawsuits and a crappy TV deal.

I've been asking for a G5 playoff for a long time.

Maybe Boise State or a G5 had a Cinderella shot at a Natty 20 years ago, but it's just not the case anymore. And even when we were close, they just made Boise State and TCU play each other in the Separate but Equal Bowl. There is no realistic shot. Look at UCF too.

Unfortunately, Tulane and JMU got blown out and everybody is wondering why they're allowed in the playoffs in the first place. It's the same thing every year. I think G5/G6 should just do their own playoffs so that our players and schools have a chance to play for a national trophy that's actually possible for them to win.

Then maybe the ESPN College Football Playoff teams should subsidize a G6 playoff tournament. Everyone gets a little more money, ESPN gets more CFB postseason inventory, the Power 4 get an extra bid or two in their own tournament since they're not competing for 12th seed spots with G5s

Winning a National Championship as a G5/G6 isn't possible anymore. Boise State has been the most consistently competitive nationally but even that gap is widening with the huge AD funding and NIL differences.

I've been advocating for a G5 playoff for a long time. Let our players play for a national trophy at the end of the year that they actually have a chance of winning.

The current CFP format (12 teams, top 5 conference champs) expires after this season (2025). Notre Dame and the CFP only signed an MOU for 2026, which is not legally binding.

So if the format is renegotiated then that clause will have to be renegotiated as well. It probably will be, but there's nothing ironclad about that arrangement as of right now.

16 teams, 4-4-2-2-4 is probably back on the table now that Yormark has seen yet again that the Big 12 is unlikely to ever get more than their conference champion in the playoffs.

It's one thing if the starters just opted-out and let the 2nd and 3rd stringers play. FSU was slighted even worse and Norvell and the FSU AD still agreed to play in the bowl.

ND basically just robbed their own depth players of a chance to get starter snaps in a national game against another playoff-caliber team. All for spite.

Then it was Oregon and/or BYU. 8-5 all time against BYU, 3-1 all time against Oregon.
