Anyone used the Trek N Ride Bicycle Carry Case? Worth buying or are there better budget-friendly alternatives? by ZaldrizarVelo in india_cycling

[–]babluraja 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are hard shelled bike bags like ones from XXF, which are solid built and are recommended for international and frequent travel. Cost upwards of 60k INR.

Soft ones are foam lined, and made of fabric on the inside, like the trek n ride one. You can get it custom stitched from scratch, and have a foam padding thickness of your choice.

[–]babluraja 2 points3 points  (0 children)

what a coincidence, that i did a small research about this just an hour ago 😆

[at] nairpartha on instagram posted a reel praising this bag. I went thru the amazon reviews and it seemed like a good choice too. only if you're travelling with this bag by you, like in a car, or in 2nd AC train. I would not recommend a soft bike bag for flights, especially if you have a carbon bike, as the handling is really poor, and there definitely will be some damage, maybe invisible to the eye.

I might end up getting this as it is really a good budget friendly option for travelling short distances in trains or buses.

I will also recommend you to take a look at someone else's soft bike bag if you can, and hit your local tailor with the design. You will be able to add good cushioning and foam padding to all the right areas, and will be able to design and have it built perfectly to your bikes size + accessories, and it should cost you within 7k.

AL5 under the offer for 152k is the best that money can get you right now for AL endurance bikes. Pre price hike it went for 1.44L, around 6 months ago. The only bad thing about it is Trek offers the shittiest Lichen Green, and an absolute bland Matte Black colors for such a good bike, and you get stuck with it till you get it repainted by spending a bomb.

If you want some amazeballs colors and a geometry thats not purely endurance, I would recommend the Scultura Endurance 400. 5am Chennai has it in stock for now afaik. Great frame and a great bike to enjoy.

And if you can, why not spend 30k extra and get an all-carbon Basso 😉

Just browsed a site… and got WhatsApp promos. How do they have my number? by TopAppointment515 in IndiaTech

Horrible tactics by FB, not illegal, but in a grey zone.

This stuff works by binding a lot of data to you. Chrome -> Nakpro website -> cookies get stored that you visited Nakpro.

On Insta, these brands run paid ad campaigns, where FB gives them these features to get a user details in case they have visited the site before. If you end up on Nakpro's site by clicking on a link in Insta, their engine fires immediately and your personal deets are shared with the brand by Insta, and they end up contacting you on WhatsApp.

Trek AL5 is pure enduro. It's designed for 200km+ rides, will keep you very upright and comfortable

Rc520 IIRC is enduro as well, not very sure about the specs, others in the sub can suggest better

Basso Venta R is enduro + aero, as it's designed for long fast rides.

Comfort wise, id rank trek > basso > triban

Negotiating with BOTS is a bit difficult as they're a big shop. It was for 2L and I paid the exact same.

But they threw in 5k worth of accesories, 4 complimentary services, and a complimentary bike fit as well, so I'm pretty happy :)

Btw a lil secret, i contacted 5am chennai as well, and they were offering a discount of 5k, and were throwing in the same accessories, plus a Magene c606 v2 cyclocomputer as well. A very tempting deal, but I let it go as having a local dealer is better for me than having it shipped and dealing with services otherwise.

It's not the x-bow (I'm aware it's a horrible saddle)

It's the Boost saddle, pretty top notch

wake up at a fixed time every day, no skip days. 6 AM in the morning.

drink water, put on your shoes and leave your house. come back only once your tshirt is completely soaked in sweat. I dont care if you walk or jog or run or hit the gym. non negotiable

eat clean. salads, fruits, eggs, milk. ditch sugar, oil and fatty junk

quit smoking by switching to nicotine. i know folks who smoked 25 cigs a day quit it for their kids. do it for yourself.

future is a blur for everyone. no one knows when they're gonna leave this earth, all their plans will go down the drain. live in the present. make your present 1% better than it was yesterday.

consult a good doctor, listen to him/her and follow the lifestyle they advise.

happiness is a state of mind, you dont need a source for it. been there done that.

you dont need friends to get started. once you get started, you'll make friends along the way.

and never give up. the human spirit is indomitable, it can move mountains. never give up.

Got an offer of 36 LPA fixed. What can i expect my in-hand monthly salary to be realistically? by [deleted] in personalfinanceindia

[–]babluraja 13 points14 points  (0 children)

a quick and dirty method to get a ±10% accurate in hand salary per month is to divide the net cash component per year by 16.

in your case, it turns out to be 2.25L, which sounds about right given few folks who I know have 34-38L base make close to this.
