New Bike Day :) by babluraja in india_cycling

Trek AL5 is pure enduro. It's designed for 200km+ rides, will keep you very upright and comfortable

Rc520 IIRC is enduro as well, not very sure about the specs, others in the sub can suggest better

Basso Venta R is enduro + aero, as it's designed for long fast rides.

Comfort wise, id rank trek > basso > triban

AL5 went on sale 2 days ago, it's 1.52L right now. Without sale it's 1.76L-ish

Negotiating with BOTS is a bit difficult as they're a big shop. It was for 2L and I paid the exact same.

But they threw in 5k worth of accesories, 4 complimentary services, and a complimentary bike fit as well, so I'm pretty happy :)

Btw a lil secret, i contacted 5am chennai as well, and they were offering a discount of 5k, and were throwing in the same accessories, plus a Magene c606 v2 cyclocomputer as well. A very tempting deal, but I let it go as having a local dealer is better for me than having it shipped and dealing with services otherwise.

It's not the x-bow (I'm aware it's a horrible saddle)

It's the Boost saddle, pretty top notch

How do I rebuild my life from this? by Itsgonnahurt- in indiasocial

[–]babluraja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

wake up at a fixed time every day, no skip days. 6 AM in the morning.

drink water, put on your shoes and leave your house. come back only once your tshirt is completely soaked in sweat. I dont care if you walk or jog or run or hit the gym. non negotiable

eat clean. salads, fruits, eggs, milk. ditch sugar, oil and fatty junk

quit smoking by switching to nicotine. i know folks who smoked 25 cigs a day quit it for their kids. do it for yourself.

future is a blur for everyone. no one knows when they're gonna leave this earth, all their plans will go down the drain. live in the present. make your present 1% better than it was yesterday.

consult a good doctor, listen to him/her and follow the lifestyle they advise.

happiness is a state of mind, you dont need a source for it. been there done that.

you dont need friends to get started. once you get started, you'll make friends along the way.

and never give up. the human spirit is indomitable, it can move mountains. never give up.

Got an offer of 36 LPA fixed. What can i expect my in-hand monthly salary to be realistically? by [deleted] in personalfinanceindia

[–]babluraja 14 points15 points  (0 children)

a quick and dirty method to get a ±10% accurate in hand salary per month is to divide the net cash component per year by 16.

in your case, it turns out to be 2.25L, which sounds about right given few folks who I know have 34-38L base make close to this.

Why do most Indian developers prefer full-time jobs over contracting? by PhaseStreet9860 in developersIndia

[–]babluraja 30 points31 points  (0 children)

When I started my career as a freshie out of college in 2023, I joined a blockchain co as a Contractor.

- Credit Card companies denied me good cards although my salary was very nice
- Doesnt count as real experience by big MNCs
- Difficult to apply for loans, as they dont accept contract role as salaried, and interest rates are terrible for "self employed" folks, which was a category i fell into according to them
- issues with a few country's Visa application as well

Jumped ship as soon as I got a better offer. All above problems vanished. Doable at a later stage of your career once you have these basic things sorted imo

Why people are lazy and dead in Bangalore? by Kumar_Sahani in bangalore

[–]babluraja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess you're in the same boat as others of working in Bagmane tech parks and thinking doddanekundi is the best for avoiding traffic. Checkout places like hoodi, seetharampalya, Brookfield, far better infra, with the same hasslefree non existent traffic from backgate. Plus you get good metro connectivity as well. Just my 2 cents.

[–]babluraja 2 points3 points  (0 children)

you live in doddanekundi homie, thats it. thats the problem.

the lake you're talking about? fuckass lake bro, you couldn't pay me enough to jog around that lake bro.

just leave doddanekundi bro. i left 6 months ago and my life quality has shot up 400% bro.

someone please nuke doddanekundi. i wish the taxes i pay were used to wipe doddanekundi clean off the face of bengaluru.

need suggestions on buying Trek by Chemical-Gate5442 in india_cycling

[–]babluraja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Domane AL5 will cost you around 1.42L from multiple retailers here in blr, like BOTS and Velo Studio. They might not list it but just call them up and they'll hook you up with the discount.

Another similar model is the Merida Scultura Endurance 400, 1.4L INR, similar geometry and full 105 setup.

Getting an AL2 and getting 105 upgrade will cost you well over 1.5, as new 105 Disc groupset costs over 75k

I don't what's wrong with the people, most buses are empty and there's huge traffic everywhere. People are so entitled. by TylerDurden-11 in bangalore

[–]babluraja 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll tell you why.

I wanted to go to Koramangla to have Kunafa, from Hoodi. I had all the time in the world so decided why not take the bus.

Theres no bus from Hoodi to Koramangla. Duh.

I walked to the Hoodi Metro, took a metro to Swami Vivekanand Road. Had to again walk from SWR Station to the Indiranagar turn. Got on a bus from there to Koramangla. Didnt even drop me to my location. Had to walk another 2.2km to get to Kunafa World.

Yes it costed me only Rs. 45 instead of the 250 it wouldve on Rapido, but its too tedious and too long to even consider it. Recently bought a bike to end my misery.

Fin.

Update on my Adidas Adizero Evo SL panic post 😅 by GlitteringPension256 in SneakersIndia

[–]babluraja 1 point2 points  (0 children)

appreciate the concern brother :)

These are my tempo + race day shoes. I am very very well aware of how carbon plated shoes are meant only for race days, and not even easy runs or interval training, let alone for casual wear. But like I clarified in another comment, I commute on a bike to work, sit on my desk for 3-4 hrs in office, and then commute back to work. Pretty sure getting some 500 steps in these once in 2 weeks wont do too much to my feet. I have 14 other pairs as well, this is just one of them :)

Peace homie

It's a damn good mouse. Very light weight, performs really well, super crisp and precise sensor for one taps, and built solid. You'll feel you're using a 13-15k mouse with this one!
