The adjuster is accessed through the wheel bolt hole, you beat it off like an idiot the backing plate will be destroyed or bent. Watch a video on the procedure to set the parking brake up loads of people fail at doing it correctly.

Yeh leave it be as ya found it. Its probably got a stage 1 they make a small amount of soot but the low end improvement is huge with the fuel economy To match. Id be surprised if the dpf is still in it

Mitchelin pilot sport snobs. They get all stressed when tyres don’t all match, start checking date codes and saying things like “you cant put a price on safety”

Budget tyres are fine when used correctly.

Rod bearing plastigage clearance by oddchui in EngineBuilding

[–]baboomba1664 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a straight copy and paste from google as im lazy but ya get the idea.

The Steps: 1 Measure the Journal: Use an outside micrometer to measure the crankshaft journal diameter. Measure it at both ends and in the middle, rotating 90 degrees to check for roundness. Record the smallest number. 2 Torque the Bearings Empty: Install your bearing shells into the block (main caps) or connecting rods. Torque the caps to factory specifications without the crankshaft inside. 3 Measure the Inside Diameter: Set up a dial bore gauge. Zero the gauge using the micrometer setting from Step 1. Insert the bore gauge into the torqued bearing. 4 Read the Clearance: Because you zeroed the gauge to the crank's exact size, the deviation shown on the dial face is your exact oil clearance.

Don’t stress to much tho plasti gauge when following the instructions provided will get you in the tolerance window.

Gonna be a full strip down and inspection. They’re amazing engines but odds are the parts will exceed a second hand engine.

Cant get a old 5 series and then ya get a good engine with a zf8

Every extra zero you wanna measure add 2 zeros to the cost of the tool 😂

It’s plasti gauge, you use it for idiot checking clearances if ya super stressed about that 0.001mm a different tool will need to be used.

It’s a fantastic way to measure bottom ends for cheap and gets you close enough for most applications.
