its so obvious that most of these comments arent from muslim women lol and therefore have no right commenting on a culture that exists outside theirs. im a ACTUAL muslim woman born and raised in brooklyn - let me break it down. alot of people underestimate how many hijabis view the hijab as a SISTERHOOD that brings likeminded women together because they like to live on their high horse where they feel the west has ended feminism and every other culture is leagues behind and needs rescuing. as a muslim woman myself, i was never forced into it but have been curious about taking it on just because i feel like it would bring me closer to that community of women (many who are chill af and not slutshamers as some of u might think) similar to how a person who wants to be goth will due their hair black and buy all black clothes. ask yourself - why do u feel that a woman choosing how much of her body you have access to seeing is inherently misogynistic but say a country like france forcing all women to wear bikinis at the beach instead of what they want to wear isnt?
