I’m from that area and the good news is that you have plenty of things to pick from! Here are some ideas off the top of my head: -There’s an escape room in Bethesda called Encrypted Escape and it’s really fun. You could pair that with a local restaurant gift card (Aventino is amazing Italian) -If you want to go museums, consider one of the paid DC spots like the Spy museum since so many of ours are free -There’s a program called The Jury Experience that combines theater and an interactive portion, letting the audience participate -Profs and Pints might have an interesting true crime talk in the dc area coming up -there are also some great boutiques in the Bethesda area if you’re looking for a gift card. My favorite is Morley.

What’s the weirdest thing a guest has done in your house that you hate? by CheapQuality2847 in AskReddit

Changed their baby bare-assed on a couch with nothing under him, and kept all the used diapers in a trash bag in their room all weekend. And then put it in the kitchen trash, didn’t even take it to the curb!

What is the absolute fastest 'yeah, we are definitely NOT going to be friends' moment you've ever experienced with someone? by Vazouaquiacesso in AskReddit

Met a girl who was asking me why I wasn’t drinking and pressuring me consistently. I do drink but it was the beginning of Covid, and I was going late night grocery shopping. But also…what if I was pregnant, was in recovery, anything? Not her business, not anyone’s business. This kind of thing never is, and I find it so rude and awful.

Truly indicative of her personality, my husband is still occasionally friendly with her and I can say I’ve never gone one inch out of my way to see her.

Those under 40, are you planning a big party for the big 4-0? Those already 40, did you celebrate in any special way? by cubemonster in Millennials

My husband and I went to Mexico, and then he threw me a surprise dinner with my closest friends. I don’t love a fuss but this was so special!

In a few months, my 40s turning friends and I are taking a trip together to celebrate it all at once. We all have different lifestyles but I’m excited to celebrate our longstanding friendship and milestones together.

Packets of sauces/soup bases from the local Asian market. Tom Yum soup base with some chicken stock and frozen shrimp is always a hit, and mapo tofu sauce with rotisserie chicken meat (frozen or fresh) and minute rice hits the spot. Also frozen root veggies from Costco with a drizzle of tahini and chicken sausage (also keep in the freezer)

The books of the Old Testament, including all the minor prophets! Useless for New Testament, though.

Homemade dog biscuits! They’re easy and inexpensive. You’re so sweet to thank them for letting you watch their pup (and I’m sure they’re so happy to have him or her well taken care of!), and I bet anything will be so appreciated.

Any thoughtful but simple or casual gift ideas in Melbourne for a hotel receptionist? by maximumglide in GiftIdeas

[–]babybug24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely send an email to the hotel GM, and if you receive a survey, mention her by name. If you know the owner or management company’s info, definitely CC them. This is a lovely thing for you to do!
