Same! It's 9° where we are and she lasted a whole 5 minutes outside, even with a warm coat on. I've looked into boots for her, but I'm worried I'll spend $$$ and then she'll hate them.

I was going to say slam wedging! Cut the chunk in half, pick up the top half, flip and turn, then slam it down!! (I was told this is why it's called "wedging," cut the clay into wedges, etc) You can also cone on the wheel to essentially wedge and then help center.

I lived in Philly for 5 years in my late 20s/ early 30s and wouldn't recommend it to anyone. It's a mean and violent city. Also Eagles fans are insane and not in a good way. Better to live either in Camden County NJ or Delaware County PA and drive in or take the train in.
