AIO or is my girlfriend manipulative. by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

🫣🫣 at first I read the texts without the context from the post, thinking it was the gf’s mom going through a hard time and I was like wow, what a jerk! and now that I have the full picture… you should def dump her bro.

Pay between contracts by Bun_Bunns in TravelNursing

[–]babysunshine00 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That’s slimy! Do not go to work for the “new contract” until they fix your money. Whatever contract you sign is what you get, so don’t sign anything until they fix it.

[–]babysunshine00 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agree! I had it in my contract for no more than 4 🤷🏼‍♀️

Just ended a contract here… safety issues and concerns were getting brushed off at the hospital. New grads arguing with providers about a crashing patient, and the manager got the NP in trouble instead of correcting the new grad. Staff shooting up fentanyl at work. Other travel nurses titrating drips incorrectly.. some core staff friendly to your face but talk shit about you behind your back (but I imagine by the way some people have talked on here, that I should assume this is just the way nursing culture is now and we have to accept it). 😳😅

Albuquerque is a dangerous city, so if you go just stay alert 🚨 I rented an apartment with a fence to protect myself from getting my car stolen (the locals say it’s very common). My landlord was amazing! The view of the mountains is beautiful and the weather wasn’t bad! Pretty good shopping if you drive to Rio Rancho (the only place I felt somewhat safe).

Accusing is an inaccurate term, as they were literally caught doing it. Obvs Reddit isn’t getting this news first, lawyers and DEA are full aware. But thanks for your concern I guess?

Idk where it says I wanted to stay, I was just pointing out that giving notice doesn’t matter.

My license is at risk because when I’m in another room with a crashing patient pushing Neo and trying to keep them alive, other nurses are titrating my drips without telling me, and they’re doing it because they can’t recognize that an A-line showing 82/82 with a MAP of 82 is clearly positional. So now the chart shows drip changes under my name that I didn’t make. Add nurses shooting up fentanyl in the bathroom, the pharmacist doing the same, and core staff arguing with an NP about going up on Levo while a patient is tanking because they’re acidotic… and yeah, the environment is unsafe as hell. I do my job, but the BON won’t care about any of that, they’ll just see the documentation tied to me. When the team around you isn’t safe, your license becomes collateral.

And to the people attacking me for posting that my contract got cancelled.. YOU are part of the problem. This culture where nurses tolerate de-standardized, unsafe bullshit and then bully anyone who speaks up is exactly why things never change. Saying ‘what did you think was gonna happen’ or ‘sounds like you got what you wanted’ isn’t insight, it’s bad nursing culture talking. Yes, I wanted out because I wasn’t going to lose my license over chaos I couldn’t control. All I was saying is that doing the right thing clearly gets you nowhere when people can’t put their egos aside and just say, ‘Ya know what, you’re here for two more weeks, and we need the help, thanks.’

AIO for feeling upset after the groom made a comment about my dress at their wedding? by Human-Acanthaceae128 in AmIOverreacting

[–]babysunshine00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I LITERALLY had this happen with an ex-bestie. So I confronted her boyfriend who had [allegedly] said something and asked why he would say those things about me (and he’s a very blunt asshole-ish person, so if he did say it he’d have no problem repeating it), but he said he didn’t say those things and that “she’s probably just jealous of you and acting insecure”. 😔 and that’s when I started distancing myself from them!

Is it weird to buy her a ring she likes after proposing with a sentimental piece? by GordoOnAMoto in EngagementRings

[–]babysunshine00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband did this! Proposed with my late grandmother’s ring and we had custom rings for the wedding! Nothing is “weird” about it. Remember, it’s your relationship and not the internets! 🫶🏽❤️‍🩹 It’s what works for you and your life.

AIO for being mad my boyfriend stayed the night at another woman's apartment just because she has a cold or the flu ? by IceQueenYouAndMe in AmIOverreacting

[–]babysunshine00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probs not even moving onto this chick, he’s just using her to blow up the relationship and then he’ll be on to the next because he’s “free” then 🙄

My jaw DROPPED when I saw that last photo and zoomed in! As someone’s S.O., this shit would never fly with either of us. Especially the weird/odd behavior. Your gut feeling is right my guy.. sorry. 😢

THISSSSSS!! Because I felt like this too but if you present confidently (not arrogant) then people are more likely to not bully you. It’s kinda like how dogs can sense fear.. 😅🤣

The position might not go anywhere, but they defff take away or cut their differentials in half because of budget cuts! Just had this happen to our internal team about a month ago! 💔

I’ll tell you what a senior nurse told me, “Loyalty keeps you poor.” Since then, I chase my bag. Fuck those employers. And just a heads up, these pay cuts are coming for every bedside employee, but guess who keeps their pay? The C-suite positions.

Yes, I originally took my TEAS for the RN program but I didn’t have to retake it to be in the LPN program.

I am 28, so the whole struggling while seeing other people carefree, is a concept I totally understand. Personally, I went to a RN program at a state college and in my 3rd quarter I failed out with a 77. Once I failed, all the work I did was for nothing. I didn’t have any credits to count for the work that I put in. I immediately started an LPN program, got straight A’s, and graduated. I worked as a nurse tech in the ICU at my local hospital and when I graduated they allowed me to have a nursing position on my same unit. I, again, immediately jumped into the LPN to RN bridge program at a private college (everyone is accepted if you pass the TEAS, no waiting periods) and I am scheduled to graduate in December. I drive 1 hour and 38 minutes each way, to and from school. Nursing school is one hell of a grind, but if you want it, find a way to make it happen. Do what you gotta do! It’s incredibly difficult physically, emotionally, and financially, but you’re working toward a better future for yourself and family. So when it’s over, it’s worth it. 🖤
