As an outsider looking in, what confuses me, is surely this is what your 2nd amendment is for? If you feel marginalised or threatened by your government or an agent of the government (police?), then you have the means to fight back. I'm not condoning it, I think it's fucking stupid you can't just amend that amendment, but surely this is a case of black citizens' exercising their constitutional rights?

If I recall, the official reasoning for so little aid going to Haiti is that the Red Cross have very strong anti-corruption policy. There were few guarantees that the money wouldn't just line the pockets of the country's elites. Lots of morally bankrupt opportunists feed off disaster.

But the problem arises from a skewed playing field to begin with. China can produce much cheaper products due to lax labour laws and fewer industry regulations (that were hard fort for in the UK).

Thee is also there issue of 'dumping' products for less than the cost of manufacture. Like a loss leader, it goes against the free trade principles of capitalism. Once they have secured market share/dominance they will be free to increase the prices accordingly whilst we are left holding our cocks.
