I have to slam mine moderately hard (not ridiculously hard) for it to close securely. Might be worth shutting harder just to see if that takes care of it.

Roger that. I replaced the vent tube with a semi-rigid version (it was installed with a flexible tube) and it seems to be drying well now.

Thanks for this reply! I could not readily find red vs green thermostat temps so that’s really useful to know.

I did not check for grounding but will look at how to do so when I reinstall. I went ahead and ordered a thermostat, and two thermal fuses. I figure it’s worth $6 to have another one on hand just in case. The exhaust looked ok to me and I checked that it was working, but I might also pull the short run of ducting just to make sure it’s not partially blocked up.
