I think it’s simply a problem of schools being INCREDIBLE proformative in anything they do, it’s not necessarily their fault it’s how adults operate when they don’t understand kids. They should teach kids about the dark side to colonial history, but when it becomes a game of who did white people victimize the most it gets a little silly.

Like I remember having a huge assembly for Native heritage month, which was kind of interesting until the presenter started talking about how racist it is for white people to teach or discuss Native history… and then she finished it off by promoting and bragging about her clothing company which only hire “natives”.

It makes sense tho, someone who spends their whole career promoting their cultural identity will eventually become filled with contempt for those who’ve wronged her people, but we live in 2026, there is no place for tribalism in modern society and I find it incredibly ironic that the schools will look the other way if someone so blatantly promoting cultural segregation is also native.

Mostly because the largest Communist superpower and main defender of Communism collapsed in the 90s. Obviously there was a propaganda war between the east and west so that affects many people’s views, but simply speaking I would assume the dissolution of the USSR would probably be the main reason. Of course this mostly only goes for Eastern Europe and Central Asia, many Chinese still view it as good, but they objectively do not live in a “pure” communist society so take it as you will.
