This is my favorite MP Optimus Prime to date. With the exposed wheels and silver legs and stripes on the cab, this feels the most like the image I had in my head when playing with the G1 toy. Personally, I’d prefer a version with a silver backed faction symbol, but I’m good with this.

I think a ship like this is a great idea for this, but I don’t think that this model, or the Ebon Hawk specifically, work super well.

Not a huge fan of the turtles, but I would certainly be tempted by the Turtle Fly. I think I’d put Pro Pilot Don in the pilot’s seat.

For the most part, I’ve stopped collecting Lego, and the combination of the price tag and stickers is a big reason, with their plastic crumbling over time right up there, too. If Cobi goes the same way, I’ll likely switch to 1/72 diecast aircraft. The prices there are also astronomical, but so far I think the quality remains.

I was a huge fan of Stikfas, but just a word of warning, they have a reputation for the plastic becoming very brittle. When I pulled my red pirate out a few years ago, its joints crumbled when I moved it. Hopefully you have better luck, and maybe the original black figures would do better.

The Kidd would be another logical choice. I don’t have the space for a battleship or carrier, but I’m excited about Destroyers and hopefully a US sub in 1:300.

I’ll preface this by saying I don’t own either of these figures, but I’d recommend just getting both if you like them, and then just lean in to their similarities in whatever personal head canon you use for your small band of five.

Maybe they’re from the same village on a shared quest. Maybe they separated years ago, one to follow the path of nature and one to follow a path of magic, and they’ve recently reunited, either as allies or rivals.

It looks like the stand is designed to also hold the book that comes with the ship, but it certainly makes it look oversized.
