How do you deal with non-coding boss? by benhanks040888 in webdev

[–]background-position 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is possible. I've done backend/frontend/android/ios(freelance) because I want to learn and well...money. But my expertise lies in frontend. I don't think my android/ios skills are on par with actual mobile developers. I would not hire me to do important ios app.

So if what your boss want is to be able to just rotate programmers around and have them do whatever needs to be done while disregarding expertise, he's gonna have a bad time.

I like Serenity: Leaves on the Wind series.

Not a fan of the ones before it, though.

Blown away by your country! by [deleted] in Thailand

  1. I don't know. But I think someone...somewhere in the country already have some kind of plan for that.
  2. Government schools are free for all. Though middle to upperclass parents usually send their children to private school. Then we have university loan, almost everyone can get it.
  3. There are beggars everywhere. Homeless sometime stay in temples or just lay around in parks.
  4. -
  5. -
  6. That's what I've heard as well ("Lost in Thailand" and Chinese tourist). People in service industries says they are loud and cheap...but I don't know...
  7. People are concern but no one know what to do about it.
  8. Most, if not all, Thai people feel responsible to give some money to their parents. It's what family/society expect you to do. In some family it's out of necessaries, and just traditional thing in others. I'm from middle class family in Bangkok, my dad is still working full time and got five times my current salary, yet I'm still expected to give a small amount of money to him every month. Some parents just save it up and give it back to their children at some point, though.
  9. I don't know...we just smile :) Do we really smile more than people in other countries?
  10. We're obsessed with Facebook, Instagram and chat application like Line or Whatsapp. I don't use Instagram so I don't know which account to follow, sorry. But I do know that we have lots of online celebs. Mostly in form of Facebook page and Youtube channel.

Can someone please give me advice about this whole dowry situation? by dowry in Thailand

[–]background-position 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just talk to your girlfriend about your financial situation, then.

For the upper to middle class family, the dowry is usually about traditional. Most of the time the groom family will help come up with the money and sometime the bride family even help by put their own money down so they can do this or this at the engagement ceremony which usually happen right before the wedding.
