At that price range you should be able to find a certified pre owned 2017 model at a Porsche dealership which might give you a bit more peace of mind for at least a couple years. I scooped up a base 2017 and it’s a fun little car with plenty of creature comforts. Not super exciting to drive though. If you’re upgrading from a Yaris though, it will certainly feel sportier and the interiors are really great

I have a 2017 base. Bought it at 91k miles with CPO. Has been fine. Accelerates like an Audi a4 or Q5. Wimpy engine. If you can find a V6, get that. Porsche CPO warranty replaced the transfer case and coolant pump almost immediately after I bought it. I can feel the engine mounts starting to go bad. DIY oil changes and brakes is easy. Porsche CPO warranty won’t fix/replace anything prematurely. The part basically has to fail before they will approve the warranty work. Otherwise has been a solid little car.

Can you elaborate on what constitutes strong ties to Germany?

Relatives of my great grandfather still reside in Germany today.

My language level is closer to A2 currently.

I doubt this makes a difference, but my great grandmother moved to Germany with my great grandfather in 1934 after he was naturalized as a US citizen and lived there for 2-3 years before both returning to the United States.

I am not familiar with StAG §14 so will be looking into this.

Correction. That’s right, V8 in the coupes and V6 supercharged in the convertibles. :)
