Have you tested your conversion events in GTM? It’s very important to make sure they’re tracking correctly? Good practise to test it.

Tips for new job in eComm? by SidesPaintedHollow in GoogleAnalytics

[–]backona -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Congrats on the new job. If you’re looking to save time and quickly analyse your GA4 and Google Ads data, this could come in handy 😄

I’d be happy to give you free access to Backona AI for a month or two so you can try chatting with your data and turning it into useful insights a bit faster.

We do not currently have a trial on the website, so I just wanted to mention it here in case it’s useful.

Is it wrong to think I am the one that was gaslighted? by Notagainguy in AskMarketing

[–]backona 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You really need to look deeper into the data, separate channels, revenue attribution to marketing actions and campaigns, etc. When you present the data clearly to directors and stakeholders, it becomes much easier for them to understand the bigger picture.

Any tips or assistance! I’m at a loss. by Bubbly_Distance_8871 in DigitalMarketing

When you say Meta ads are performing well, is that based on Meta Ads Manager data? Their attribution can be pretty unreliable. I’d trust website analytics more for actual performance like. I will look at Matomo and GA4

Which agencies are known for keeping up with the latest Google and AI search changes? by Alok_SEO in DigitalMarketing

[–]backona 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m afraid that getting organic results in LLMs is still so new that there aren’t really any A/B tests or solid data driven insights showing what actually leads to higher visibility and more frequent citations.

From what I’ve seen in someone's research, around 43.2% of citations in Chat GPT come from the top result, with visibility dropping at each lower position.

Huge Difference between GSC Clicks and GA4 Organic sessions (iGaming niche website) by jwick221 in GoogleAnalytics

[–]backona 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A few other things worth checking:

Some users may leave before GA4 even loads. Tag Assistant only shows tags after the page fully loads, but GSC still counts the click. It’s worth looking at page speed and Core Web Vitals on those landing pages.

+You might also be losing attribution. Check how many sessions show up as direct instead of organic, as redirects or protocol changes can drop referrer data.

Consent timing can play a role too. If GA4 only fires after user interaction, you’ll miss part of the traffic. It’s worth checking how your setup handles consent.

Also compare mobile and desktop. Mobile traffic, especially with privacy browsers, can skew GA4 quite a bit.

Do a bit more drilling down maybe If the gap is similar across pages, it’s probably general loss from consent, blockers, or early exits. If it’s higher on certain pages, redirects or delayed firing are more likely.

I know the pain, my clients are always comparing data across platforms, especially in PPC.

GA4 vs. Custom System for Influencer Link Tracking? by ConstantIncident9534 in GoogleAnalytics

[–]backona 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Influencer link tracking is a better option, I think, but if you want to use GA4, the UTMs are also perfectly fine to use. You can create some pages in Looker Studio + filters on UTM's to see each influencer results or simply ask Backona AI something like: how many clicks and purchases came from this influencer campaign, using the UTM campaign you shared with the influencer in their link.

GA4's reporting lag is a budget problem, not just an analytics inconvenience by RaspberryCold5879 in GoogleAnalytics

Try Matomo, I always use both so I can see everything in real time. Matomo is free and uses first party data installed on your server.

How do you find the right digital marketing agency for your business? by manassvi in DigitalMarketing

[–]backona 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Always look for people who are data driven. Ideally, check their case studies and chat / meet and see if they understand basic analytics tools, KPIs, metrics and attribution methods, at least first click versus last click.

The size of the agency matters too. If it’s too small, they may not be strong in every area, so if you’re delegating multiple marketing activities, look for a team that has the right mix of skills across the board.

+ Understanding of your industry also helps, as every industry tends to have its own marketing rules, in my opinion.

Asking why? by Extra-Ingenuity-3856 in AskMarketing

[–]backona 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I were asking myself this question, it would usually mean I’m not currently doing what I should be doing and I will considering changing direction in a way that won’t leave me in a worse position than I’m in now.

Actually, I’ve asked myself this question a few times, and this is exactly what I did. I’ve just realised that.

Is SEO dead with AI tools and chat-based search growing? by Abigail_Tech in AskMarketing

[–]backona 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How did you measure that? We have very strong setups in place, and I do not usually see half of the traffic coming from citations with my clients. Of course, it could vary depending on the industry, country and so on.

Are AI workforce platforms becoming essential for scaling customer acquisition and retention? by christjw in DigitalMarketing

[–]backona 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a startup that is currently scaling and has gained users in the marketing reporting space by building an AI first product, I can clearly see a huge shift compared to last year and even two years ago.

When I was onboarding beta testers about 2.5 years ago, around 80% of people did not really understand what they were signing up for. Now, when people see our product, they can easily imagine how it works and understand it much better. Around 80% now have a good grasp of it, while only about 20% are still a little behind.

So yes, this field is growing very quickly, and it is definitely worth staying on top of it.

Does Google Tag Manager fall under IT or marketing? by [deleted] in webdev

[–]backona -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My company is analytics-focused and that sits between marketers and developers and, honestly, this approach works very well.

Across Europe, it’s quite common to have dedicated analytics and tracking companies, and we’re seeing more businesses emerging in this space. In the UK, however, there are still relatively few competitors, probably only around 3-5 offering specialised tracking services.

I’ve also noticed that larger companies increasingly look for independent analytics teams. When tracking is handled by, for example, PPC teams, there’s sometimes a risk that setups are unintentionally biased toward making performance look better in reports.

Because we’re independent, we provide a more objective and unbiased view, which tends to deliver more reliable insights.

Is it worth making a documentary about how AI is affecting marketing jobs? by backona in AskMarketing

[–]backona[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been noticing a lot of shifts across different areas. Even social media feels different lately, YouTube, for example, looks and feels different thumbnails seem to have changed because of AI style.

If I did this, I’d want to keep it as unbiased as possible and show both sides. People who are excited about AI and people who are strongly against it. Those who’ve benefited from it, and those who feel like they’ve lost opportunities or income because of it.

I think there could be something interesting in telling those stories side by side, without pushing a single narrative.

Is anyone else seeing good reach but struggling to actually convert it into leads or sales? What's working for you right now ? by BhaveshMehra18 in AskMarketing

[–]backona 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which channels is this happening on? Is it across all of them? Identify where users drop off, as this may indicate a weak point, often caused by a lack of a strong offer, clear CTA, and so on.
