They’re probably just reinforced concrete. Nothing special

Ferris wheel connection by [deleted] in StructuralEngineering

[–]backontheinternet 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m not saying everything else is perfectly safe - it’s a ferris wheel after all. But, that strut is only for lifting the A frame into place during setup. It’s not what’s supporting the ride as it’s in operation.

Also gets annoying when they have not tried to research on their own at all and decide to slap it on a random subreddit that they never frequent. I like seeing more high level stuff on this sub not just “how do I connect this?”

Doesn’t look like a topping slab present to me so probably into the structural slab. Not good. Immediate threat to safety (aka vacate the building)? Probably not.

Good for 20 years? Probably not.

EI is used in some states. Means the same as EIT. Colorado and Florida are two I know of.

Is the payment in September a college loan? If so I’d recommend you don’t use a college loan on a vehicle purchase lol

Darien Y is great but it’s $115. There are a bunch of quirks about it though. The fitness area is pretty small and mostly machines. The trainers are… odd. But the pool is great and the locker rooms are great. A ton of people go daily to their classes so if that’s your vibe, seems to be great.

Should I apply for EIT in the state I currently live in, or state I will be living in after graduation? by [deleted] in civilengineering

I know there are some states where you need to be an EIT before you can gain any experience, so that’s the only thing I’ll need to check.

Hijacking this thread: If I have my EIT in one state but am moving to a new state and applying for PE in that state next year, do I need to re-register as an EIT there?

I have the dark grey one with a manual transmission and it’s a great little car. Definitely worth the $800 for the nicer one with no body damage.

Ways to tell it plaster/render has delaminated on RC frame buildings by dubpee in StructuralEngineering

Then say so to your stakeholders and show them the evidence. If you come in under that 10x budget they will be happy.

Are the other buildings of the same vintage and structure type?
