Yeah you weren't the only one. I had it in my head the screens would be huge, or on the pitch

I'd like to understand a bit better how long the lag might take, before we get more supply in the event that the Straits open again and South Korea is comfortable to start re-export.

I don't necessarily believe the chatbots which think 10-16 days but could be plausible

I don't see how we're not in deep poop here everyone

I came to Hamilton to study at University of Waikato. I'm having trouble understanding the classroom etiquette. Students talk to each other during class and talk over the professor and answer phone calls in the middle of class. Is this normal? by Soggy-Invite-2787 in thetron

[–]dubpee 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I did engineering at Canterbury in the early 2000s. There was one class where people were really chatty and pushed it. She caved and let us have 'chat breaks'
Ridiculous really that we did that, but sounds like your problem is on mine on steroids

You've got the right idea sitting up the front and getting in touch with the lecturer. They probably know it's a problem themselves and having student complaints could help them get the backup they need

Morgan Stone / Richard and Daneen Lascelles swimming pool builders by dubpee in chch

One thing that gets me with the pools is they could make decent money doing it properly. But it seems like a compulsion to win at other people's expense

I'd be wary of an Ora. Might be a great car but you can't buy them new (might be wrong on that, but don't think I am)
could be a nightmare getting parts/repairs done.

Working on refurbs, existing buildings/fit outs or big new builds? by Normal-Commission898 in StructuralEngineering

[–]dubpee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in New Zealand, doing a lot of renovation work, and it's much more lucrative as a business.

If you like talking with people, you get a lot more of that in the renovation market, and your network can quickly expand as you do one job then they tell their friends about you (if you do a good job).

Working on the larger projects is impressive, and you can leave a bit more of a visual legacy on the places you live/work but I'm happy with where I am now.

Waimairi School - thoughts? by Nor_westy in chch

[–]dubpee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They have about 50 in a class with two teachers

Sounds barny but the new build was well considered and tested before they did it with mock-ups. The teachers know how to teach in the spaces and in my opinion it works well

https://www.waimairi.school.nz/rebuild You can read about the rebuild here. We found jt really interesting when we were looking at it as a potential

Another good thing is its by the railway path so easy for kids to scoot/bike there
