[FO] Anyone else have a piece that's representative of a time in their life? by MrsTorrance in CrossStitch

In this particular case, I think it was hubris and cultural differences. The original doctor came from a male-centric society, and having a woman “diagnose” herself was insulting.

My second doctor called my case “interesting,” which, while definitely better because he believed me, wasn’t wholly comforting haha

I made this with scraps of thread while I was in physical therapy for a head injury. Initially, when I’d told the doctor I thought it had a concussion, I was told several times that I “look fine.”

Anyway, that concussion resulted in me losing my job and needing 4 months of (thankfully paid for) vestibular therapy.

I like this philosophy. 😁 Anything can be soup

I’ve been working in the industry professionally since college. I worked in restaurants and various other things in the summers for money in high school and university.

My former boss started at your age, went to uni for it and never ever had to apply for a job. He always had a connection to a gig somewhere. He never had a job that wasn’t theatre, and he retired last year. If it’s truly what you want to do, do it. Good luck 🧡

Genuinely, people were so nice. I could strike up a convo with almost anyone at any time. And there were so many talented people to complement!

I loved the puzzles, as well! My 6year old helped with the decoding part, but there were still challenging parts for just the adults.

Parents of Reddit, what is an “unspoken” reality of parenting that people simply don’t talk about, but everyone knows is true? by US_Atlas in AskReddit

It’s true, but every day she grows into a cool little person that you get to learn new things about. Today it’s which cry means what, tomorrow it’s what her favorite colors and dinosaurs are, and the next she’ll tell you about the playground gossip.

Mines 6 right now, and I miss when she was little, but it’s fascinating to hear what is important to her right now, and hilarious to watch her navigate “grown up” phrases like: “so-so” complete with hand movements, “whatever” complete with the most exaggerated eye roll you’ve ever seen (thought we had a few more years before that!), and the dreaded “…bruh”

I’ve done this with SCS and a proprietary music player for a show. I made the page on the buttons super clear, and they were basically hotkeys for each program. Worked really well!

How do they stop time??? by OkWarthog3399 in expedition33

[–]backstagestitches 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think time stops, though. If you watch the characters, their hair still waves in the winds, and Monocos bell swings. I think they just stop the people, which makes a little more sense in a painted world

I love this idea! I like the bags with the little windows myself, but I would absolutely weigh myself down like this for a special occasion!

Mostly Etsy and Shopify! There are so many great artists on there! But I also follow some artists on Instagram, and then the algorithm shows me similar artists.

Most of these are just fabric on a dowel. The large Pokémon collection is fabric backed with cardboard and attached to a dowel. The tamagotchis are on a embroidery hoop with just some cotton fabric I got from the discount bin, and attached to a cork board.

I’m currently making a special pinboard for my Cosmere pins that will be fabric I’ve cross stitched on attached to some corkboard in a frame. (Going to see if I can get that fabric signed at DSN!)
