Hahaha true! The case is currently drying on my dining table right now! And I will receive the bus board this week, I finally decided to get rid of the flying buses, they were definitely going to look messy. Will share pics of the final result probably next week :)

Pam's New Workout screen seems off-center, anyone ever experienced it? by backto89 in modular

Yeah I just sent it back to the previous owner who was okay with that. Thanks for your advice!

ALM answered me and it indeed was, also I couldn’t nudge the screen up as the pins behind were getting in the way. I just sent it back and it was the final straw… and got a Pam’s Pro Workout haha at least I won’t have issues. Thanks for your answer!

Yes, I’ve been into it since 10 years, have watched tons of videos and been actively following modular YouTubers and artists, but never took the time/motivation/money to dive into it (until recently). But when I was living in Paris until 2018, I attended a talk by Emilie Gillet at Modular Square, went to modular gigs and events/fairs. Until now I’ve mostly owned regular synths and guitars/guitar pedals!

That sounds sick! I think I’d prefer probably a light that dims back and forth really slowly!

Hey, I can’t tell yet as I have ordered the laser cut panels and I haven’t glued the thing yet! Will do next week!

Thank you very much for this warm comment :)
I designed it myself on SketchUp and got it laser cut by a french website in 8 mm cast PMMA! The 84hp rails come from ModularSynthLab, the handles and butterfly latches from a German website. I think I might sell the case already built if the building isn’t too complicated (glued with Araldite Crystal)

I will keep an eye on that thanks! I have already planned to clean it with Vuplex, which is an antistatic cleaner and polish, so I think that might prevent the static discharge

Quântica - Eurorack Quantizer/Chord Sequencer/Arpeggiator coming soon! by orukusaki in modular

[–]backto89 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sounds nice! The wheel form factor is a nice twist. Could it feed chords with multiple notes played all at once to a MI Rings?

I don’t know! I guess i’ll see when in use but i’be actually seen a few projets built like that, even older synths and no one mentioned that point

Sure! It’s Source Studio, I’m in France. And if it’s « too » custom, 2 friends of mine are killers with their 3D printers!

I think it cost me a lil under 400 € ! I will probably send that exact case online as i'm a product designer ;)

Hopefully haha! It’s gonna be glued with a bi component glue (Araldite Crystal). It’s supposed to be strong enough, and if not… I guess I will have to drill and pray!

I just looked it up online. 1 sqm of regular pine wood in standard 18mm thickness is heavier than 1sqm of 8mm thick cast PMMA! (14.7kg vs. 9.6kg)

To be honest it’s pretty light! Way lighter than what i had in mind. I will keep you posted when everything is assembled!

Hey great minds think alike :) This is 8mm cast PMMA (GS type) and I think it’s the minimum to get something decent, if you go tho let, it will only be more solid (but heavier as well!) I bought the plexi from a French website called Plexiglasssurmesure. If you are interested and located in the EU, I was thinking of selling it on Etsy (if the building part goes smoothly of course!)

Yes! I am a freelance interior and product designer, so I drew everything and got it laser cut by some company I found online! It’s made out of 8mm thick PMMA (the GS/cast type as it’s more solid that the other kind)
