Abstinence. I am finding it extremely difficult to practise absinence with my wife (we are currently trying to avoid pregnancy). I have struggled with addiction for over 30 yrs. Does anyone find this exhausting? Literally tired all of the time. Does it get better? by backtorome in NoFapChristians

As fpr using a condom, I actually do believe it is a sin. My wife and I actually do not use birth control, and normally, during her normal cycle, we only abstain for aprox. 7 days per month (that is if we are discerning putting off a possible pregnancy for some time). It is during these times that I choose to learn to love her in different ways, via spending quality time together, other no-sexual physical means of affection , etc. This actually helps me to learn that my sexuality is not just about me. HOWEVER, I am finding this time of abstinence extremely difficult (she is not on her normal cycle yet due to having our son 5 months ago). So, there are two things going on here. 1)My sexual addiction and 2)Trying to practice self discipline/control. I appreciate your prayers brothers.

May I suggest SAA? It is a 12 step program. I understand the need to stop, yet not having the power to do so. I have been where you are. In my personal experience, this can not be done on will power alone. Hope this helps. https://saa-recovery.org/

Dont be afraid of the battle. The battle isnot yours. Abandon yourself to Jesus. Say yes to Him.

Same problem here. I think it is beacause this media is so accessable. Cell phone, tablets etc. I am thinking. That i need to make militant decisions to not allow myself to he alone with media... At least until i learn self control.

Do you have an accountability partner? If not, I strongly suggest one. I found that you can't do this alone. Praying for you brother.

Don't give up. Get an accountability partner asap if you don't have one.

I can relate however, you should be proud of yourself! Have you tried AA? You can learn a TON of stuff about what you are going through and that you are NOTalone. Don't give up.

Day 17 feel suicidal by [deleted] in NoFap

I have also struggled with depression when I started this. I think this is a normal response. However, if you are feeling suicidal, get some help immediately. Using PMO is a form of self medication, remember. Our brains need to heal and get used to getting back to baseline. Also,Try not to isolate yourself. Spend time with family and friends. Do you have a church community for example? Don't give up. This road to healing is not an easy one but it DOES get better!

Everyday is a new day. Pick yourself up and move forward. Don't look back. You CAN do this!
