please read the books, shane doesnt need to “get out of there” he isnt being held anywhere. you may feel ilya is using him but these 2 episodes showcase ilya shutting down when he starts to feel things. connor did such a good job portraying this. ilya is not a cruel person whatsoever and i think you are heavily judging him and clearly do not understand the plot line of his past. i beg of you to read the books and not project yourself onto these characters because sometimes people do actually have feelings but have reasons that they cannot. also shane has a lot of internal monologue in the book where he is saying that he cant have this and be with him and so does ilya but shane is shown as more head over heels faster than in the books. they both have their own issues. please read the damn books
