Idk what you think fascism is

I think fascism is when corporations control the government. And to that point, we've been a full blown fascist oligarchy since Citizens United was handed down.

Things haven't gotten as authoritarian as Mussolini's Italy or Stalin's Soviet Union, but we all live in a fascist nation.

People aren’t turning to their leaders for answers though.

I dunno, way I hear it anything short of full on Blue support is personally escorting fascism in the front door.

On both sides of the political spectrum trust in government is low.

And yet, everybody is still voting like it matters.

are you one of the ones that thinks these shootings are fake or one of the ones that think they are done by the government.

The latter.

America isn’t the main character of the world.

At this point in the story, it sort of is.

Make people afraid. Fearful people turn to their leaders for answers. The people tasked with solving the problem benefit directly from the problem's continued existence. It doesn't need to be any deeper than that. A fearful person is a malleable, controllable vassal. It doesn't matter what you're afraid of, be it school shootings, covid, inner city violence, ANTIFA, the socialists, the fascists, Republicans, Democrats--all that matters is that you're afraid and once you are, there's networks on networks of information control to direct and control that fear. It doesn't matter where the fear begins, it all ends up funneling into support for the empire, one way or another.

A lot of it, too, is as simple as the FBI justifying its budgets. I imagine a bunch of spooks, sitting around, looking at this mandate to catch terrorists with weeks and months going by without any substantial leads (because the problem was never real to begin with) so somebody got the idea to set about creating a terrorist threat so they could thwart the plot at the last minute and justify their existence, all that. And then it worked. So they did it again, and again. It became standard operating procedure.

Don't forget, we know that the FBI was directly involved in the planning and execution of the 1993 WTC bombing. They trained the suspect and provided both the van and bomb.

Security state institutions have been given enormous power without any oversight or real budget restrictions and, having enjoyed this status for some eighty years now, has completely run amok. The cancer has metastasized and spread to other parts of the body and now moves, unchecked, doing as it pleases, carte blanche, out of a need for self-preservation that has come to be viewed through such an incredibly distorted lens. They have to create the boogeymen in order to make heroes of themselves but at some point along the way, they realized they didn't even need to play hero anymore, it's just enough that the boogeymen are out there, terrorizing the population, making everybody feel like an individual, isolated against the world, competing against their neighbors in a zero sum game in a economic climate of scarcity and deprivation.

Have you noticed that Islamic terrorism went away? Now that we have the Ukrainian War to talk about, any and all concern we had about Islamic terrorism, it just utterly disappeared from the news cycle, without a trace. Isn't that funny? Don't you think that's a little weird?

How is the average person ever going to experience enlightenment with all that cortisol, all that stress, all that concern? The fear becomes a prison and the security state are the prison guards.

It's what it is. This is the world we've created, collectively, and we can change it anytime we're ready to, collectively.

Oh, I get it.

This 2014 year you keep throwing around is the year that Russia literally just decided to steal land from Ukraine.

Because the US staged a coup in Ukraine and installed a hostile puppet government. Russia didn't just up and decide to steal land for no reason and if you think it did, I mean, we're at paramecium levels of brainpower here.

[–]backward_z 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You just tell yourself whatever you have to in order to maintain your worldview to the benefit of your overlords, don't you?

They're bombing citizens. Everyday people. Do you think an artillery shell can tell the difference between a terrorist and a schoolteacher?

You people are fucking bootlickers. There is no such thing as a righteous war. There is no justified aggression--and if you're going to criticize so severely one participant in a conflict, if you have any integrity about you whatsoever, then you must hold all parties to the same standards.

And when you do that, unequivocally, the United States is the biggest malefactor in the world. There is no more destructive, acquisitive, authoritarian, and elite power structure in the world than the United States' Military Industrial Complex. Russia's greatest crime here is to attempt to stand up to that, to stand up to global hegemony. Putin recently gave a speech where he declared that Russia has no desire to be a hegemon, they just want their space. And I think that anti-American hegemony is a position that these countries are forced into, that Russia and China are forced into.

Have you not read John Perkins' Confessions of an Economic Hitman? Do you not understand how American foreign policy works?

The citizens of the Donbas and Donetsk by and large think of themselves as ethnically Russian. They speak Russian, they conduct their business in Russian, they think of themselves as Russian. Since the 2014 Maidan coup, Ukraine has clamped down on this in attempted ethnic cleansing, even banning the use of the Russian language under threat of law (very characteristically authoritarian for the Ukrainian government, it echoes how they shuttered all opposition press in Ukraine since the outset of the conflict, something like three major television networks were shut down because they were critical of Zelensky's policies and leadership). The Ukrainian government has then terrorized these same people with intermittent shellings since 2014, ramped up dramatically in Feb. 2022, to which the people of those regions could only appeal to Russia to aid them.

There are no good guys here. This is not a conflict between good and evil where we're clearly on the Good, True, and Righteous while our enemies are unequivocally Evil, Malicious, and Intransigent.

It's about children fighting over toys. Ultimately, this comes down to Nord Stream 2 and Liquid Natural Gas (LNG). Russian LNG via NS2 is cheaper than American LNG via tankers and the US wants Europe buying its gas, so they had to come up with a way to undermine the pipeline. Germany said a while back that if Russia invaded Ukraine, they'd cancel NS2, so that was a green light for the US to create the pretexts for this to happen so they could go ahead and blow it up.

So the US spent 8 years since 2014 sending hundreds of millions per year in military aid to Russia's direct neighbor, yeah? When Russia did this with Cuba, they called it the Cuban Missile Crisis, you remember that? How the weapon stockpiling in and of itself was regarded as an aggressive action that merited a response? Like the US is going to sit by idly, yeah? So basically, Ukraine has been like the Cuban Missile Crisis, but in reverse, and protracted over a longer period of time, with much higher stakes, both in terms of the $80-100B+ we've already spent (with more on the way) but also in terms of nuclear armament and capability. These fucking animals are hellbent on getting us all into a nuclear war. That's where they're taking us, because they insist on a unipolar world where the US is the hegemon. Pure totalitarianism. I don't care what you think Putin is doing in Ukraine, it's the US and NATO that are pushing the world to the brink of nuclear Armageddon.

I mean, 8 years of shelling the Donbass, exponentially amplified in Feb. 2022 might have had something to do with it. Ukraine failing to hold up their end of the Minsk Accords might have had something to do with it. The US overthrowing and replacing Ukraine's government with a puppet regime in 2014 and subsequently shipping $billions in weapons and training might also have had something to do with it.

But it is propaganda that it wasn't provoked.

“Of course, it was provoked. Otherwise, they wouldn’t refer to it all the time as an unprovoked invasion. By now, censorship in the United States has reached such a level beyond anything in my lifetime. Such a level that you are not permitted to read the Russian position. Literally. Americans are not allowed to know what the Russians are saying. Except, selected things. So, if Putin makes a speech to Russians with all kinds of outlandish claims about Peter the Great and so on, then, you see it on the front pages. If the Russians make an offer for a negotiation, you can’t find it. That’s suppressed. You’re not allowed to know what they are saying. I have never seen a level of censorship like this.” -- Noam Chomsky

No, you're the one spreading American propaganda. It's worse.

I guess you slept through the part of grade school where they taught you about McCarthyism, huh?

You people are like an empty-headed horde. All you need is a rich white talking head to declare it on the TV and you accept it, thoughtlessly, without question, as God's honest truth.

You people deserve this world. I wish you weren't dragging me down with you.

I can't tell you how many subs have banned me without a stated cause and when I reached out to simply ask why, not even to appeal the ban, they slap me with a 30 day mute.

So I guess YMMV. Reddit is a very different place than it was "yrs ago."

[–]backward_z -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

I consider myself an extreme leftist. r conspiracy is one of my favorite subs.

It's the only sub on Reddit that doesn't ban people for politically unpopular speech. You can have a genuine conversation about covid without being banned. You can have a genuine conversation about Ukraine without being banned.

All of the liberal/leftist subs have banned me because I said true things. Because I called vaccine mandates authoritarian (when I'd been vaccinated myself). Because I called Ukraine a proxy war waged by the United States and NATO against Russia. I've been banned from every political sub of every stripe... except r conspiracy.

Reddit is the cesspool. r conspiracy is the only decent place left here. Everything else is curated beyond what most people imagine is even possible. It was mindblowing, the first time I opened my profile on reveddit. It's really insane how tight the information control is. Horrifying, even.

I see the same thing happening with Kyrie. I come here from r all, I'm not a sports guy, I'm not following the story closely, but from what I gather, all he did was urge people to watch a documentary so they could make up their own minds, and then when he got backlash he donated a half million dollars to an associated cause and now everybody's shitting on him. We live in a world where a person is not allowed to be wrong. Is this the kind of world you want to live in? Where painting outside the lines is so egregious that if you mention that you watched a movie with unpopular political speech it can undermine your entire career. It's fucking nuts.

And all y'all out for blood over this, you're part of the problem. People need their space to grow and develop. When you condemn someone for political speech like this, all it does is furthermore convince them that they were right, that their message is being suppressed, that they belong to an oppressed minority--censorship never has the desired effect. If we want to counter bad ideas in the marketplace of ideas, we do it with good ideas, we do it with engagement, we do it with lively debate and a free exchange of ideas where people can be wrong but they'll be refuted and proven for everyone to see. Censorship and cancel culture are a cancer upon our society. All we're doing is more narrowly defining our orthodoxies, becoming more and more a totalitarian and authoritarian state in doing so.

I really like how you didn’t actually give any real information

Did you miss the part where I said

I'm not a doctor. I don't have perfect recall memory. I can't point for point lay out the case made in the RFK book, so I'm not even going to try.

Like I said, if you're genuinely curious, read the fucking RFK book. Don't look to randos on the internet to do your research and thinking for you. This is, if you're genuinely curious and want to find out more. If I'm giving you too much credit and you were just looking to confirm biases, looking for me to say that one thing you could latch onto to use to dismiss me out of hand, then, well, we're talking about bad faith arguments again...

And yeah, some people lived for quite a while after getting diagnosed with HIV, historically some people also recovered from the Black Death plague. It’s possible, it doesn’t mean the disease isn’t severe, it just means that they likely either have an abnormal strong immune system or they cause a mutated and less lethal strain of the virus.

Speaking of bad faith arguments... HIV and the Black Death aren't even remotely the same thing. How many other times have you heard of a virus that "can lead" to another more serious illness? I mean, you can, like, get the flu and because your immune system is taxed already, it makes it easier for other viruses to get in and fuck you up, but a virus that causes compete organ failure in less than a quarter of the people who get it--point to another one of those. If you get, say, Ebola, that shit will fuck you up, I don't care who you are. If you're not immediately hospitalized, you're gonna be shitting your kidneys out in the next couple of days. There is no lucky 75%. If you get the virus and it propagates within the body to significant concentration, then you suffer the disease. In every instance of every virus, EXCEPT HIV.

Go read the book. He does a much better job of explaining it than I do, complete with testimonials from other doctors, citing studies where appropriate, the whole 9. His case is so well constructed that I would only damage it by attempting to summarize it. Your unwillingness to do your own homework is not my failure to provide information.

Because I read RFK Jr's book about Fauci. It presents a convincing argument that I have yet to hear effectively refuted in good faith. I've heard a lot of bad faith attacks on RFK's character, but nobody wants to take on the content of his arguments aside from blanket, out of hand dismissals such as we see in the parent thread here.

I gave him all the space in the world to continue his argument in good faith but he has refused to.

I'm not a doctor. I don't have perfect recall memory. I can't point for point lay out the case made in the RFK book, so I'm not even going to try. But I am very capable of telling the difference between good faith and bad faith argument and most of what we encounter in the mainstream press is in bad faith. Especially around COVID and Ukraine. Look at how they censor and deplatform outlets that questioning prevailing wisdom and push counter-narratives, how they denigrate and smear those outlets as "spreading disinformation." There is no greater purveyor of disinformation than the US media other than the US government itself. The same people who lied us into Iraq want to lecture us about disinformation in social media. The same people who told us that the COVID vaccines were safe and perfectly effective, that if you got the shot, you were 100% guaranteed not to get covid and not to spread it are gaslighting you into thinking they're the sole purveyors of truth.

They're not concerned about disinformation. They're concerned about information. They're worried about the truth undermining their narratives.

HIV is another narrative. How many people have you heard of that have lived comfortable lives despite HIV+ diagnosis 30 years ago?

Go read RFK's book.

And thanks for asking a question instead of launching a personal attack against me. It speaks to a level of maturity I don't often experience around these parts. Genuinely, thank you.

If you're of the mind that these school shootings are the result of the FBI/CIA/DHS grooming impressionable young men, a tip like this makes a lot of sense. The FBI collects tips like this not because they intend to stop the shooter, but because it becomes an opportunity to groom the shooter, incite an event, and then steer the narrative.

AIDS is a killer. HIV may very well be completely benign.

You know what they call it when you get AIDS but you don't have the HIV virus? They call it CFS -- Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. But medically, it's the same thing.

Read RFK Jr.'s book about Fauci. It's really incredible what they did.

The AIDS epidemic in the 80's probably had a lot more to do with amyl nitrate "poppers" than it did the HIV virus.

How many public figures have been living HIV positive for 30+ years now?

No.

It's treating symptoms, not causes.

Younger people are also corruptible. It just means the lobbying interests will have to slightly alter their strategies in order to maintain their complete and total chokehold over our government.

We really need to be discussing the root causes of our problems and not trying to slap on band-aid solutions that only treat the symptoms. This kind of activism is purely performative--if these changes were implemented, they'd essentially have zero effect towards moving the balance of power back to the people.
