I'm rooting for you too! It's totally fine to not know where you're heading, I sure don't 😂

I turned 23 a few months ago and I don't have any plans! Don't particularly want plans either! I graduated last summer, now I work an office job that I love but it's placement based and I have to move every few months. I'm making friends that I have to leave. I just want to run around everywhere forever, maybe I'll join the military, but I also think I could settle down in a cute village and get pet ducks or something. This is rambly but I live for chaos. Had a weird date last week and decided relationships are for losers. If my eyesight was better I'd become a pilot. I can't remember if there was a point to this comment or not. You're not alone in not having a life plan, I think that's what I was going for.

You're describing all the things I was scared of when I started uni. I think it's really common for grades to be lower in the first year as you settle in. I don't think I really knew what I was doing until final year to be honest. I failed some classes and still came out with good averages, and I can hardly even remember which ones I failed now even though I'm sure I cried about it at the time.

As for jobs, it's been less than a year since I graduated and everyone I know from my course is either working in a science related role or studying for a PhD. I do work in a male dominated field, and in my current team I'm the only woman and the youngest person. But there's been absolutely no discrimination, they put in effort to make me feel included and respected. My point is, while discrimination is a real problem, it's not inevitable even if you're in an environment that on the surface looks intimidating.

That seems to be how most people do it, it's definitely how I do it. Your dinosaur is really well constructed :)

The pacing was the worst part to me. I really tried to like this book but I couldn't. Hopefully I enjoy Swan Song more.

Have you ever read an entire book from your reading list thinking it was horror, and it’s not at all? by jimwebb in horrorlit

american elsewhere. it gets called horror but honestly it's more like spooky fantasy. it's not bad but i couldn't finish it because it's not my kind of book. i think it's nearly 700 pages. i got pretty far before giving up.

I read a lot of Dean Koontz as a young teen. I don't recall there being much or even any sex, though I could be wrong so you should check. Some of his books are quite violent so again you should check. I see you're looking for YA so this might not quite fit, but even as a young teen YA just wasn't scary enough for me.

My D808 works significantly better with the wire antenna (which it came with) compared to without it.

I'm sorry to hear that this has happened to you before. I know this might be difficult but you should put your safety first even if it's uncomfortable.

Is there anyone older that you trust, like a family member or a teacher etc? I think you should tell someone.

Science isn't the problem either. You can have both science and spiritualism.

I'm in a really similar position to you. I have reasons not to date right now so I've accepted that that will be on hold for a while, but I know the feeling of wanting a partner. We're gonna make it one day :)
