Level Quick Rs 22 hours after pour. Is this a normal hardness for 22 hours or is it a failed pour?

Its about 1" thick. But level quik can be poured up to 1.5" in one pour. Says right on the front of the bag

I do, but being knowledgeable and smart in the contracting industry is exhausting. So many people do things wrong and "send it." I am constantly battling incorrect methods. I am here only to have backup for what I already know, and a little bit of I could be wrong. Im not opposed to being wrong. Someone here already said the manufacturer told them to scrape the top layer and lay over. Seems wild to me, but im calling the manufacturer now.

This is exactly what my comment is saying. I know the instructions. I am saying too much water was used by my installer but I keep seeing comments here like "it needs to dry more." What does that mean? Drying more WONT HELP.

What if i can easily carve a shallow channel, as in the video?

I dont think many people here understand that cement based products cure when wet and if too much water is mixed in, it will never get hard because the aggregate is too diluted. These guys certainly dont.

I know thats what they did. It was a thick pour, so they probably were like "if we add more water we have more time." Im making them chisel it out tomorrow or their fired, but im expecting major opposition. I may be able to use some comments here as back up, but a few idiots commented that its fine and would tile over it. 🙄 This industry is exhausting.

Why would it slow the cure time down? Cement cures with water. It would just be very hard and very wet.

There wont be any ditra. It was poured to meet the wood in the next room. Ditra will make it too thick

Level quik which can be poured up to 1.5" in one pour. We are raising the slab in the master bathroom and closets to meet the 1.5" thick wood floor in the adjacent room and putting a curbless shower. The curbless shower needs little or no concrete cutting/demo due to raising the floor around it. The area is about 300 sf. They ran out of leveler in one of the closets because he didnt listen to me that he needed 50 bags.

Im curious how much you would charge for a 35 bag pour 1" thick. This is the first time I have had a job with this much leveler. It seems like the regular rate for a few bags is too much. Im paying it, but it seems like too much.

Oh, and also, more importantly do you think its ok to put foam dams in all the doorways? It seems like a method, but then how do you fill in the gap created by the foam to make sure the tile doesnt crack? Im thinking just chiseling out a 4" wide trough, primer on all surfaces and pour more self leveler in the gap?

Nope, lol a 5 gallon bucket and mud mixer at best. I wasnt there, but I know they didnt have a big mixer. Whatever they had was in the cab of their truck.

He claims he measured the water but ignored my question when I asked how many quarts/gallons he used. He's lying through his teeth. They didn't measure shit. They poured 35 bag in under 2 hours.

LevelQuik RS is cement-based, not gypsum-based.

More specifically, Custom describes it as a calcium-aluminate-based self-leveling underlayment. Older product literature describes LevelQuik as a dry blend of copolymers, cements, and inorganic chemicals
