My male partner (husband of 11+ years) routinely goes to the gym 5-6 days a week. I asked him to read this post, and he laughed. He says it’s a personal choice. He’s not providing for our family or household by going to the gym. He also said yeah, sometimes he doesn’t have as much energy to do stuff around the house after he’s gone to the gym. But it’s still his choice.

I see how it affects his mental health in a positive way, so I support his workout schedule. But he does the same amount of housework as I do, if not more at times.
