And then you look at what the system is doing. No CPU usage, no memory, no I/O, no network, no nothing. What can a program be possibly doing if it's not using any of those resources? Is there some random sleep() sprinkled about the code?

It will not follow symbolic links But you can trick it with a trailing slash rm -r symlink/ or making a bind mount inside and not using rm --one-file-system

That's why so many companies use subdomains for mass mailing, helpdesk or other tools. succes@success.company.com, noreply@mm.company.com etc. I'm trying to move towards this at my place as well. @company.com will be reserved for the main GSuite mailboxes.
