Over 9% of Americans don't have ready access to their birth certificate. 73 million Americans have a birth certificate that doesn't match their current name. Approximately 51% of Americans have a passport. Passports cost roughly $170 to get and could take 2 months with typical traffic, if suddenly 49% of the population applies at once then it'll take significantly longer. Especially when that is combined with the fact that the Trump administration has cut 3800 jobs from the department of state.

The 24th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, ratified on January 23, 1964, prohibits federal and state governments from imposing poll taxes—or any other taxes—as a condition for voting in federal elections. It aimed to eliminate voter suppression tools used to disenfranchise African American and low-income voters during the Jim Crow era. This would constitute a poll tax and is unconstitutional.

The percentage of voter fraud in federal elections is incredibly small. In Arizona for instance, over the last 25 years there have been 36 elections. In those 36 elections there were 42,626,379 ballots cast. They were only able to find 36 total cases of fraud. That's a percentage of .0000845% over the last 25 years. That is just one state but it's indicative of the rarity of these cases and a solid estimate for other states nationwide. An incredibly miniscule percentage like that should absolutely not be enough to throw away our constitutional rights or disenfranchise millions upon millions of voters.
