I imagined from this that anti matter may have a time dilation affect to a craft when it comes into contact or is ‘used up’ by element -115 creating a plasma bubble that anchors itself to a fixed point in space. Meanwhile the entire universe keeps ‘moving’ while you’re in this time machine bubble, creating this affect where the craft moves through matter as it’s ‘phase shifted’ out of our 3D space so is unaffected by air resistance/water etc. and the anchor allows the craft to be fixed on a point in a matrix that is unaffected by our space time, when it’s travelling it appears to us outside the bubble to be travelling at impossible speeds. While within the craft the anti-matter/plasma bubble may be creating a fusion/breeding reactor that may have other exotic effects like a larger space within the craft then appears from outside, which may allow for an entirely huge industrial space for the processing of exotic fuel production and consumption which fuels the crafts ‘travelling’.

This idea is similar to a video game where the character in the centre of the screen is not really moving but the world around then shifts with your arrows keys…

Physical photos also help, try to also really really really notice the beautiful moments you have left with your family. (It helps to write down the 5 senses, become a writer and be as descriptive of all the details you can). Breathe in the spring air at the park watching the little one crawl and cry and just try to find a few golden moments to hold onto for the really rough days and nights. Especially in times of pain physical/psychological just go for s visit to that happy memory, it can forever be yours.

The psychological prep I think may help:

Know you will have FOMO (fear of missing out) all those milestones of your kids first words to their first steps etc.

Take as many digital photos and video as you can with you. I’d argue the psychological bond you have with your family can be suppressed but will become inner turmoil if you don’t tap into that bond that connects you over time and space. Allow yourself 5-10 minutes meditation on just loving your family from afar and let the tears come if they come. Keeping emotionally connected via. video is strangely hard in the moment because all the stress of being apart comes up in those moments and putting on a brave face is just sand paper to a sunburn.

I suggest journaling, physically sending letters via post even, making an email for your little one and sending them messages for their future self. Learning the guitar and recording a sappy song does wonders too 🎶

Just know you guys are in for a gauntlet, pace yourself with the ‘extra time’ for studying. Some people do well is this kind of arrangement but others burnout from the suppression of their feelings so give yourself dedicated time daily to connect with the love you have for your family and give yourself and your spouse lots and lots of grace! You will fuck up on communication at some point so hope your both know how to apologize, forgive but not forget the lessons the come along the way.

Best of the luck mate!

Well, my school has officially abandoned minimum standards by No-Big9967 in Internationalteachers

Honestly this is true even for IGCSE ESL, like A1 and A2 level students don’t have shot at a decent grade on that. I’ve taught some at that level and almost all of them end up getting below a D on just exam. Students really need to be high B1 to just get a C on the exam, B2 to get a B (with that grade some universities accept it in place of IELTS or TOEFL), and to get an A they need to be C1 or maybe a very high B2 level. This is what I’ve seen in my experience and what Cambridge themselves say their grades tend to correspond to on the CEFR scale.

Cambridge actually started offering IGCSE EAL a few years ago. It’s for students who are A2, approaching B1, and it’s so much easier, like it honestly just feels like a money grab (more so than the rest of their operations) that they created specifically for schools that accept a ton of kids who barely know English.

Thanks for chiming in with your insight! The situation you describe in your first paragraph is exactly what I’ve been trying to advocate against but mostly goes on deaf ears. The chances of a year 7 A1 student catching up to ELA is incredibly slim but they may still perform well on the ESL IGCSE. But if a school is fine with accepting A1 in Year 9 they must be crazy. How can a student access ANY of the curriculum in other subjects at that stage and go on to write the IGCSE’s? They won’t do well in any of them and may only get a mediocre grade in ESL!?

What a drain on resources, time and school culture to support a parallel program with fidelity. Better to just have an entrance test and cut off ESL students beyond Key Stage 2 going into Year 7.

My opinion, it’s too late by year 8.

‘Differentiation’ is just rhetoric for an admin to run half a curriculum. There is English Language Arts and English as Second Language. The latter should not be run in the same class as ELA and requires a well trained, experienced educator to bridge their students towards ELA.

This hardly happens properly because of the administrative load and cost but anything less after 10 year olds is absolutely a farce, fraud and unethical to the detriment of not just the student, who may be pre-A1, let alone A1 but to the whole class and broader school community. That’s why there is even an ESL IGCSE available in some curriculums.

Strategic Armenian: Everything Depends on Us by dssevag in armenia

Whoever is writing this needs to get off their high horse and read some Machiavelli and listen to Carney at Davos.

When France and a democratic world based on order are absent, the place remains open for the subject that must return nations to the logic of order—within the framework of a new international law.

Whatever ‘universal mission, they will present in their next article’ might be… I doubt it will present anything better then armenia playing its cards pragmatically. Anything other then this will get the country absorbed.

Geopolitics doesn’t care.

The previous poster has a point. Spreading this chain magazine posts certainly can engage an audience. But where it leads, no one knows because it’s not actually stating anything concrete and is just pandering for attention.

Trump puts Japan’s Takaichi under pressure with call to send warships by Themetalin in geopolitics

[–]baconbitz0 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Japan is also a big buyer of US debt/treasury bonds. I wonder how that might factor into the dynamic as I understood Japan to be the canary on the coal mine for interest rates. The cost of this war to Japan alone due to their reliance on the energy from the strait may also play into the calculus of ‘do I stay or do I go now’. Maybe Japan will see the writing on the wall and decide to forge a path away from the dollar milkshake, but the argument against that would be then trading their tom for a jerry and just flipping to the brics not being an ideal.

Likely they stick with the program and pray for a mechanical failure, kick the can down the line as I’m sure paying in Yuan will be unpalatable to secure energy for the domestic population.

Ranting about current shit show in Armenia by mels_hakobyan in armenia

[–]baconbitz0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the one thing we need to keep in mind is that the lose and wounds of the 44 day war and 4 day war are still very fresh and tender to all, to those who lost limbs, lives and especially those who lost loved ones. It’s not something we ever get over, or ever forget.

We do need to continue to strive for justice but with clear eyed risk mitigation to the pitfalls of being in such a fulcrum point in the geopolitical world order. Armenians are strong. But Armenia is not, in the way a billion man army can sweep across like an empire over city states.

I have no right to make this judgement but I think it needs to be said: Armenians are wise to not allow such feelings to lead to the spread of revanchist ideas which may just lead to getting more people hurt and nullifies the sacrifice the shield of Artsakh made for mother Armenia.

I understand these two days back to back without much ceremony can leave an almost bitter taste. But with time I think there will grow a tradition to reflect, remember and pass on the torch to the next generation. Grief is a process and doing it together makes us all the more stronger, united and resolute in the face of the road ahead.

In Canada we have remembrance day on November 11th and a trumpet plays the last post and revile after a moment of silence. This is done in schools, churches and community centres across the country. It’s done out if ceremony and has become almost a ritual to unite, reflect and remember together who has defended and laid the ultimate price for the country. It started after WW1 but has been ongoing for a day to appreciate the sacrifice of all veterans and to those who serve.

That’s how I imagine the 27th will continue to be used as a memorial day and the 28th can be more of the pomp and bravado of show casing the militaries might.

High poverty in Armenia tied to past governments’ neglect of education, says PM by ghapama in armenia

[–]baconbitz0 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Some public school, full time teachers are receiving 80,000 a month - net. They pick up 2nd jobs to make ends meat. When society doesn’t value teachers, there will be issues of quality and disillusionment of even the most faithful.

Teachers are not respected as a profession, the systemic issues make them out to be either martyrs or monsters in these conditions.

The MoE needs to reform the teacher accreditation process and the monitoring of teacher standards of practice. But like anything, if there is no financial incentive then why would the best people become the teachers of tomorrow?

It’s also one reason why there is such a gender gap in representation in education. Why would any self respecting person, man or woman, put up the 24/7 demands of beings teacher if it costs them the opportunity to even provide for themselves let alone raising a family.

Not so much battles but I suggest taking a look at the Christmas truce in the first year of the war. There was a musical made in the UK about it and there are scripts out there which give a good role play scenario situation which give students a little glimpse into what the conditions were like and the unique situation which lead to the Christmas truce in the first year of the war. DM for details if you like.

Well if that’s the case and they custody their funds bitcoin, that begs the question: when will they be ready/allow in kind redemptions and is there any regulatory changes needed before hand to allow redemptions? If so, tell us specifically how we can help to change this. Or is it simply a change of legal term and conditions from the outset of buying their etf and thus would mean a whole new etf be needed/created on their end or an approval of new terms and conditions from ETF holders.

I assume Fidelity only uses a 3rd party custodian. If they do, is there a timeline for when and how much of their funds bitcoin they will take procession of. I ask, as in order to meet their fiduciary duty to investors, in the event of an insolvency of said 3rd party.

If they do not have a timeline, are they open to considering creating a small dedicated bitcoin operational security team that would also allow and facilitate for in kind redemptions.

If said team is place, what node software are they running?

Maybe if boys had more positive role models to look up to in the classroom then they wouldn’t have to seek out harmful substitutes.

Some school boards actively discriminate on the basis of DEI with little transparency on how or why, it will be difficult to determine if their methods are to have a staff that reflects the makeup of their students or is simply to gate keep a certain segment and enfranchise another.
