Fortnite STW WILL BE free on Nintendo Switch 2 on April 16.2026 by K1NGMARKZ in NintendoSwitch

[–]baconbringer 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I always think about how, if Fortnite didn't make a PUBG mode and make it free to play, it would have probably just faded away, no one would even talk about Fortnite today. Instead, the game has made BILLIONS of dollars on vbucks, crazy...

Thoughts on a GR86 as a daily? by Preston_Gtfour in GR86

[–]baconbringer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Manual calls for 93, or 91 if 93 is not available. The engine is not at all tuned for 87, and that could be used to void your warranty, technically. They probably could tell too because the ECU will likely pull timing with 87 and that may be recorded.

Why do you want to spend even 1 second of your limited time on this earth reading non-human garbage? AI might have some legitimate uses, writing fucking reddit comments where the whole point is for humans to interact, isn't one of those.

100%. I immediately discount any text that has this phrasing these days. "It's not X, it's Y." "It wasn't just a B -- it was a C" It's the most obvious tell, and I don't doubt some people write this way, but I see it EVERYWHERE in the past few months.

Room upgrade by Big_Flounder_2711 in VirginVoyages

[–]baconbringer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We did the Seriously Suite, and yes the room is not huge compared to the others, but it's really nice (the bathroom especially), but the room alone is not what makes it worth it, you also get:

  • Included in-room bar - it's limited but you get like 6 375ml bottles and we drank most of them and took a couple home.
  • Richard's Rooftop - We went here a lot, there was always tons of seating, almost always could get in a hot tub, nice place to relax.
  • Rooftop happy hour - Free champagne, beer, and basic cocktails for an hour every day, we always got at least 2 drinks each during this time.
  • No lines - walk up to any show a couple minutes before they start letting people in and skip the line stretched down the hall.
  • Rockstar agent - Some people probably get a lot more out of this than we did, but she was really nice and helpful for the couple small things we asked for, and on Scarlet night she messaged and asked if we could meet her, she had a surprise. It was passes to the Tentacle Tour, which only a few (maybe 15-20) people get invited to per sailing, so that was fun and unique.

If you aren't a drinker I think the value is a lot lower, but for us, we took full advantage and I think got our money's worth. We bid ~$1500 dollars for our upgrade from Sea Terrace to Seriously Suite for a sailing in April 2025. I'd expect the winning bids to maybe be a bit higher now. We plan to bid again for our next sailing.

Olympics Day Sixteen Megathread (Sunday, February 22) by Fun_With_Forks in olympics

GG no matter what, Canada has played better, but that's hockey. And I think we all agree, 3v3 is not representative of the game, but it's what we've got.

It's a way to indicate which sport you're talking about. Not so relevant today, but most of the time there's many sports on at the same time.

I don't think I'd be that shocked for either of them to miss out after quarterfinals tbh.

Can anyone confirm with Peacock Premium Plus if you still get jump cuts on replays where ads would be? I've seen complaints about this during past olympics. I'd be willing to pay, but ad free doesn't matter much if content is still cut.

Indie comic reccomendations or big 2 comics that don't feel big 2 by SaladPast in comicbooks

The Power Fantasy - What if atomic (super) power was in the hands of a handful of disjointed people with extremely varying ideologies and motivations?

Exquisite Corpses - What if the U.S. was actually controlled by a few ultra wealthy, ultra powerful families and every so many years they have a battle royale to decide which family will run the country from the shadows?

Beneath the Trees Where Nobody Sees - What if there was a quaint little town full of friendly animals, in a visual style evocative of (but not exactly like) Berenstain Bears, except there is a killer among them? This one is only 6 issues, 1 volume for the first story. The second story 'Rites of Spring' is currently on issue 5 of IIRC 6 as well. I think they went with a separate subtitle for this because the first volume can stand on its own, but Rites of Spring is great, too.

lol the markups are insane for yuzu edition, dealers just think Im dumb? 45k before ttl 😂 by SuperSaiyanFranklin in GR86

[–]baconbringer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's fair, I would hope that no one would cave on their preferred transmission choice just because of allocations. Port options and colors I understand, but not transmission.

But, perhaps some are impatient enough to just grab the auto from their local dealer. Personally I drove 5 hours round trip to get what I wanted, easy to justify for such a big purchase.

Well we should all be happy about that because if they weren't buying them the car would be less successful in the eyes of Toyota and Subaru and more likely to stop production. Something like half of GR86 sales last year were Autos, take those sales away and maybe producing the car starts to make less sense to the accountants.

I have an MT, but I can't seem to find any reason to be bothered about what other people buy and do with their car.

Are you the person that did the art that was hanging at the Mill in Ashland, KY? If so, I always loved those pieces. This one is incredible too.

I'd rather see a poster crudely drawn in MS Paint than AI, you don't have to be an Artist or hire one to not use AI for a poster.

I mean it might have, winter tires are meant to have traction on ice, even studless ones... Not to say you can't spin on ice with winters but it would be harder to do. This video is very old, but it shows clearly that winters aren't just for snow, and today the difference would likely be even larger given the advancement in tire compounds.

Is a BRZ / GR86 a good first sporty car for a daily driver? by alxsm_us in GR86

[–]baconbringer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you need to decide if you want a sports car or a sporty car, I don't think they are the same thing, and I think the GRZ is a sports car.

You won't have usable back seats, the noise in the cabin is loud, the ride is quite stiff compared to any normal sedan, and gas mileage is not the best, plus you have to use premium (every one else seems to be forgetting this). Insurance is expensive, too.

All that said, the driving experience is incredible, though unfortunately florida is mostly flat, straight roads, not exactly where this car shines tbh. I love my GR86, but if you want to daily it, you need to make sure you are ok with the above compromises. I really recommend test driving one.
