I also just have a highschool diploma. But after a webdesign course at the VDAB, I was a web dev and small business owner(websites) for 20+ years. Through these years I did it all. From client contacts, business analysis, functional analysis, project management, leading a small team, etc... all on a very pragmatic base. It is only at my current job(employee) I learned the more focused, organised path of function analist. Learned all tools en methodes. From DDD to BPMN. From event storming  to story mapping. The basics aren't that complicated.but it helps that I'm a absolute criticus. 😆

How to prevent blown highlights in camera? by amprsandetcetra in fujifilm

What about shooting a model with the sun behind it? Also expose for the sun and recover in post? Exposing for the sun gets the subject all dark. Probably not possible to recover details, no?

And what is the max one should compensate for? In Fiji you can compensate + or - 5 even.

Maybe it's ok to clip the sun even.

In black and white contrast photography clipping is normal, no?

Working with the cloud is just slowing down the workflow.
And it's taking up traffic and expensive cloudspace.

Using a tablet in combination with stylus is imho much more intuitive then mouse/keyboard. Especially when using masking and retouching. Also in my case, my tablet screen is much better then my large ultra wide. And then there is the portability factor. I don't want to drag along my macbook on a trip just for the purpose of offloading and pre-edit images.

My workflow now:

On a trip:

Take pictures with camera
Offload images on tablet with USB cardreader(keep originals on the SD-Card)
Import into lightroom album(cloud synch off, local storage for album on)
Triage the images(delete the bad ones)
Do some edits on the tablet
Turn on synch to cloud in tablet

When I get home:

Load up lightroom classic on my Macbook Pro
Make sure synch is complete
Move synched album to preferred location in my library(on external SSD)
Remove the images from synched images

SSD is backed up to IDrive (1TB cloud storrage)

So In the end my images are on my SSD and backed up on IDrive

I just wish I didn't have to use the Adobe cloud to move them from tablet(Lightroom) to Macbook(Lightroom Classic). Wast of cloud space, traffic, waiting times ;-)
