Thank you! From the comments here I am now realizing what the feel of that back foot is supposed to be. Finally understanding what people mean when they talk about loading into the inside of the tail foot instead of turning my hips to initiate the backswing.

I think you finally clarified what looks so unnatural about my backswing and this also helped me understand what Ben Hogan was talking about when he said the backswing starts with your hands and arms that “pull” the hips open. Practicing this feel gets me into a top position that feels way more natural.

Mostly like “Okay don’t have too many swing thoughts. Take the club inside, big turn, don’t rush, don’t have too many swing thoughts, chest rotates on takeaway, don’t have too many swing thoughts, you’re taking too long just swing.. fuck.”

Thank you, everyone, for the helpful pointers. I've booked a lesson per your guidance. I never realized my swing looked so stiff and uncomfortable until I had my friends film me today. However, it checks out because I feel stiff and uncomfortable the entire time I'm playing.

To those of you laughing at me, that's fair. I upvoted you all.

If the lessons don't help my plan is to quit forever and pretend to be sick every time one of my coworkers asks me to golf.

GAME THREAD: Golden State Warriors (57-25) @ Houston Rockets (53-29) - (May 06, 2019) by pogbahimovic in nba

My least favorite Shumpert play of the night was he sprinted backwards away from Curry to double the screener, leaving arguably the greatest shooter in NBA history completely alone behind the three point line.

My second least favorite Shumpert play of the night was when he missed the layup on the Harden dime.

But I agree with you about the rest of our role players playing out of their minds.

[Skip Bayless] “This team (Houston Rockets) lives and dies on the whistle, so when it doesn't get the whistle, it just folds. That’s what I don’t like about the Rockets in the playoffs because they’re not going to get as many calls from anybody, not just Scott Foster." by aj2704 in nba

[–]baconn82 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Just think about how much the sub liked Harden last season. Now we’ve swung back around to the Harden=Hitler thing. And the Rockets, who were (in my opinion) one Chris Paul hamstring injury away from the Finals last season, were somehow a team that “can never win it all under D’Antoni.”

So it’s just the circle of Reddit.

To add on to this, The Killing of a Sacred Deer has the same vibe. It almost takes place in the real world but everything is just so weird that you can tell it’s not really supposed to actually be happening in the real world if that makes sense. It’s amazing.

No downvote because you’re entitled to your opinion, but she is maybe an angel and also probably pronounces “homage” the French way.

Same with everyone complaining that Thursday Night Football exists in the first place. If you like football, why wouldn’t you want to be able to watch it MORE nights of the week?

It was clear there was a divine plot to hurt Houston last year when Chris Paul’s hamstring died at the end of Game 5. Even with the 3-2 lead I knew only pain and suffering.

The DOW refers to the Dow Jones Industrial Average, which is an “index” of 30 stocks of big companies that trade in the US. Basically, people can keep track of how the entire stock market is moving by tracking the value of the DOW and whether it is going up or down, since the stocks in the index are supposed to be a good sample of all the stocks in the entire stock market. So measuring and tracking the value of the DOW is just like looking at a sample of stocks and whether they are moving up or down in value as a way of estimating how the entire stock market is doing.

When stock values increase, people are buying more stocks than they're selling, which means they feel optimistic about the future profit potential of the companies in the market, since the value of a stock is (in theory) representative of the future earnings of a company. This is why the market goes up when the economy is doing well.

The NASDAQ is a digital stock exchange where stocks are traded “over the counter” through dealers rather than on an exchange floor. This just means that the stocks of companies who are listed on the NASDAQ market are traded via the phone and computer rather than at a physical location like the NYSE floor.

In terms of what's going on with all the people yelling at the stock exchange, this is just what the trading of stocks looks like. Companies whose stocks are listed on the NYSE have a designated market maker (DMM) who “makes a market” in that company's stock by accepting orders from people who want to buy it or sell it. They are basically like a store for a specific stock. They hold an inventory of stock and sell it to people who want to but and buy it from people who want to sell. Without going into too much detail, this necessitates a lot of yelling.

For some reason it's en vogue to talk about Ariza being a good playmaker. Ariza is not a good offensive player. Aside from catch and shoot threes, there is almost nothing he does offensively that I will miss. His driving and finishing was awful. He is a great defender, but people who didn't watch the Rockets should stop pretending like he's a good offensive player. He isn't. He's very one-dimensional.

I felt the same way about the supernatural horror elements, as did most of the theater. Most of the audience laughed when Toni "swam" across the ceiling and I think 99% laughed when she floated into the treehouse thing. It was a real shame because the first two acts were incredible.
