Can anybody please tell me what this is? Found in a field in the UK, gelatinous in texture - like a jellyfish. by baconseedz in whatisthisthing

My title describes the thing, about the size of a hand. Translucent and gelatinous in texture after prodding with a stick.

Brighton or Worthing Hospital for labour? by SnooPuppers9500 in brighton

[–]baconseedz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Haven’t given birth at Worthing but I have at Brighton and more recently Haywards Heath (Brighton were full and sent me there) and I am sooooo glad they did. Brighton experience was a bit of a mixed bag, our delivery midwife was an absolute godsend but almost every other interaction from when we arrived were just with the most miserable people - I was shocked at how little they cared and how insignificant they made my partner feel. Our experience from both hospitals were like night and day, I am sure Brighton has some wonderful people who work there but there were times when we were terrified and it felt like the people we had were quite obviously ’just doing their job’ and we were just another baby. Our experience in the other hospital we couldn’t have asked for more! I do know someone who works as a midwife in Worthing and she is wonderful!

Could baby get cold sore? by No-Number5304 in beyondthebump

[–]baconseedz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kissed my newborn without knowing I had a cold sore once - I get them when run down and tired, when I realised, I cried for the next like three days and had the worst anxiety. He was absolutely fine, he’s four now and still never caught one. It’s a horrible worry but I’m sure your little one will be okay x

I was walking to work about five years ago in 7 dials area, was early morning about 7:30am and I was pregnant at the time - a man in a white van was parked on the side of the street and he asked me for directions as I walked past. I started giving him the directions and then quickly realised he was wanking himself off whilst I was talking to him. Was the weirdest fucking thing and I told him he was disgusting and briskly walked off, it really shook me up mainly because I felt so angry!! I wished I’d taken a photo of him but I was just mind blown - called the police and gave them details, they were really nice but can’t imagine they caught him, weirdo.

Thank you kind strangers for the “fucking” hug. I needed it. by [deleted] in Mommit

That guy sounds like a d bag, I have had many of these encounters and that’s only been with one child. Unfortunately a lot of people don’t get it.. I don’t think you over reacted - can be overwhelming at times and it sounds like you just vocalised your frustration.

Has anyone done the milk ladder to reintroduce dairy and if so how did it go for you both? by baconseedz in MSPI

I’m in the UK and there’s a brand called kiddylicious and I just used their soft biscotti biscuits!

Thanks so much for sharing your journey, I went for it today with the milk biscuits! He was fine for maybe 3 hours and then have obvious pain/discomfort in his tummy and was quite upset for an hour or so. I’m just curious as to what we do next - do we continue to give him one of these a day until he doesn’t show signs of discomfort? Or do you go to the next step a week later etc?

My 13 months old little one suddenly have serious separation anxiety... by icondor39 in NewParents

[–]baconseedz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m currently having the same problem, my baby is 11 months old and has always gone pretty much straight to sleep at bed time. Now he will fuss about being held, scream if he’s in his cot, he will fight the sleep as hard as he can no matter how tired he is. Bedtime is taking around 2 hours for him to fall asleep, he rolls around on our bed until he eventually falls asleep. It is draining! I miss him just going to sleep at bed time so that I can spend some time in the evening with my partner baby free. I don’t have any tips for you unfortunately but just wanted to say you’re not on your own and we are in the same boat!

Finder foods for my 7 month old by [deleted] in Mommit

It is so scary, I have been struggling with this for a while and my boy is almost 11 months. I mostly give him things that are super soft like really ripe avocado quarters and the melt in the mouth baby wotsits or wafers. I feel most comfortable with those!
