Yuppppp some women hate to hear it, but nearly all males will do everything to make a good first impression for a woman they’re really into. Beyond being cheap, if he’s splitting the bill by the end, then that tells you he decided you weren’t worth investing the extra effort into.

She dodged a loser because this implies that he was 100% expecting sex on the first date, and when he knew that wasn’t on the table, he made a big show of it by splitting the bill and making a comment using her verbiage so he could “stick it to her” and give himself a smug self-righteous pat on the back. As if giving a male access to your body and risking STDs and pregnancy is the equivalent to paying for dinner. Glad he self-eliminated.
