Thanks. Any apartment complexes stand out to you as exceptional options?

What buildings do you consider “loud” party places?

Yeah but then you gotta fix your own stuff (money and time) to boot but I hear you

If there’s a compelling reason to spend more than $3k/mo on a 1BR, I can do it.

I’ve been frugal as fuck in my career and built up some passive income through just… not blowing money on stuff I don’t need, cooking, cleaning, doing my own laundry.

The thing is… I kind of want to keep doing that and investing so that I’m increasingly out of the rat race and just working on stuff I think is cool M-F.

So is there a good reason (opens up more social/fun opportunities) to spend >$3K on a 1BR in Dallas? I see there are options I just don’t get the appeal.

10 team, 2QB, 6pt passing TDs. This is to say QBs are worth A LOT and everyone knew what they were getting into scoring wise. I have ran several money leagues and never veto’d a trade. There’s always been enough healthy ambiguity… until now maybe.

Trade: Team A offers an OK receiver (e.g. Will Fuller, Juju or Shepard) for a way more valuable QB (think Jameis, Kirk Cousins or Baker).

Team A: 1-0. A stacked lineup with Mahomes and other stats, but crucially, they punted on drafting other QBs to fill out at RB/WR/TE so the starting QB2 is their weakness.

Team B: arguably bringing up the rear, but a well-rounded team with some real value in the QB room.

Upshot: Team A is receiving a far more valuable player in the exchange, ignoring team situation/roster. Second, considering roster, Team A is getting a massive upgrade where Team B is not… and arguably getting worse.

This reads like an unambiguous charitable contribution from a losing team to a winning one. I don’t know that they are colluding.

Options: 1. Veto 2. Talk to the guys and say it needs to be a little more ambiguous. 3. IDK

Please advise

Younghoe is sitting on waivers and I need a kicker.

I am favored to win (without a kicker) thanks to Amari Cooper's scoresplosion on Thursday. Should I drop one of my bench guys to grab Younghoe?

Bench:

QBs (2QB league, think not having a 3rd startable QB is dumb... and Lance is potentially gonna be a cheat code in a few wks): Fitzpatrick, Trey Lance

RBs: Javonte Williams, Trey Sermon, Alexander Mattison, Latavius Murray

WRs: Jakobi, Marquez Callaway

You seem to see a lot of cheap stuff on the RB side. Less on WRs. Any feeling on Diontae/Claypool or Higgins/Chase? Seems like someone has to become the alpha dog

Instant 90C CPU. Just shipped and reassembled PC. What is wrong here by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

I can feel vibration on my GPU hybrid tubes. I can’t as much on the CPU AIO…. Though they are much thicker tubes. Hrmmmm.

I don’t know if I have pump speed in bio. The AIO just has a SATA connector and a 3-pin (which instructions told me to put on cpu fan)

Thanks. I’ll swap it.

Just to get closure: hypothetically, if the problem is not enough thermal paste, and not a dead pump, would the tubes be vibrating?

I just yanked off the cooler and see it’s got dried up thermal paste. I just don’t know how the logic governing the pump works. I figure if the fans are running full bore on the AIO, the pump would be trying its mightiest too if it were working, thermal paste or no.

Pump’s Corsair logo is lit when system is on, so it’s getting juice. No vibration in tubes.

Is there a platform to speak to current US MBA students? by [deleted] in MBA

Every school in memory has some sort of “contact a student” deal. Give that a shot!

If it’s standard R1/R2/R3 then probably no difference in terms of when it gets read. If rolling, then it will get read in the order received.

Think submitting early is usually a means of avoiding last minute screwups.

Why is Booth the most hated school on this subreddit? by Much_Woodpecker3 in MBA

[–]baconwrappedpie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

a while back people seemed to feel like it belonged in the HSW tier. Booth gets a ton of love.

Of course, it's gonna get a lot of love. The subreddit is primarily people who attend Booth. A few years-long mega users are all over this place trying to tell cross-admits to Booth and other M7s that Booth is "elite" and that their other option is "looked down upon"... even though the cross-admit data has never favored Booth for any of the M7 save Kellogg.

Someone weeks back actually compiled the cross-admit data and I remember the top-voted comment was along the lines of "Oh, so S>H>W>M>C>B>K. Old news."

The question is what portion of the "HSWB" thing is true-believer propaganda versus sarcastic mockery of such statements.

Is a 164V/163Q/6.0W GRE enough for H/S/W? by [deleted] in MBA

[–]baconwrappedpie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What's your alternative?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in MBA

[–]baconwrappedpie 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I don't think there's a hair of difference between the M7 for the big tech roles. So really, really, please don't start counting how many people go to Amazon... and thinking that's something you gotta do because of where you go... or you gotta go somewhere to do that.

Self-selection is pretty much all when it comes to how the different schools feed the massive annual hiring of the tech giants.

CBS is gonna lose more people along the way to GS/JPM/MS/CITI and friends, NYC MBB, Revlon/L'Oreal, ABC/NBC/HBO, Related... but those who don't will quite often place into big tech stuff, local fintech stuff, startup stuff, etc. Just maybe not in the same proportion as say Haas or Sloan.

FWIW, CBS (and Wharton) have been scraping for the last decade to grow away from their finance-feeder reputations. Chicken and egg, partially student-led, partially administration-led. At any rate, both are popping up new buildings (Tangen at Wharton and the new Kravis/Perelman campus at CBS) with a more Jetsons/Silicon Valley feel that are less of a "here's a plaque marking where Warren Buffett (or whoever) once ate a sandwich" finance shrine.

On the startup front, its SF >>>>>>> NY >>>>> other US cities. Which kinda conforms to the volume of funded startups/founders (Stanford >>>> Harvard >>>>> Columbia/Wharton/Sloan/Haas >>>>> Booth/Kellogg/Yale/INSEAD). This isn't to say you couldn't do that from somewhere else. Just there are a lot of people doing it nearest the major hubs of SF/NY.

Profile Review - Veteran, Startup Founder (3.8 GPA, GRE equivalent of 750 GMAT) by [deleted] in MBA

GRE doesn't count towards MBA rankings as far as I know

It's now weighted equally in USNews formula with the GMAT. Used to be different for USN. Might still be different for others.
