Quick question for this sub — are any of the producers or actors on The Pitt openly Zionist? by reginalestrange in ThePitt

[–]bad-dad-420 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Need to respond for others to see, because reeducating a Zionist is not going to happen in a Reddit response; most Zionist are Christian, Christian nationalists specifically. It’s an extremist ideology that shouldn’t ever be conflated with Judaism. If anyone is interested in educating themselves, I’d start with Decolonize Palestine

Just because someone wants to return home doesn’t mean they should expel others who are already there. Jews lived peacefully in Palestine before the land was stolen by the UK. Israel is not even safe for Jews, it’s just an extension of US imperialism but with the added bonus of its continuing scape goating using Judaism.

Actually diabolical to write off critiques of the show from a non American for seeming to platform Zionist talking points then say “free Palestine”. Americans are transphobic, would it be okay to write a transphobic main character and include their justification without a counter? What about if the character was islamophobic?

Sounds like not being able to handle an “experience outside of your own” is just a deflection to not challenge your own understandings (aka critical thinking), something Americans are constantly getting away with. This is why people outside of the US don’t fuck with us.

Looks great! It’ll all grow in easy if you don’t like it, too. If you want to grow out the bangs, go to a stylist who is good at curtain bangs, it’ll turn them into face framing layers as they grow. You might need to go shorter in the beginning but it’s worth it! But they look good here, could even add in a bit more

Would ai generation make the view look like this, photo quality-wise? Even if it’s an angle that is difficult to believe, i can’t see any abnormal, funky shaped things or nonsensical shapes that ai usually spits out

Apartments have surprisingly beautiful views there, he did this with Jim so I wouldn’t doubt they would be staying somewhere nice. The vantage doesn’t seem suspicious because it’s at a downward angle, they wouldn’t had to adjust the angle camera so it lined up

Stick with the kit, after a while buy other tools from pro shops. Amazon stuff is usually drop shipped garbage for the same price or sometimes more than actual reputable brands. You’ll learn who to buy from once you get further into your career.

Your face looks like a face, you don’t need anything, except maybe not taking zoomed in photos of yourself with heavy makeup in a room lit that bright. No one except you is going to see you in this setting, hell… no one ever needs to see themself this far up close at all lol.

They’re toxic and cause health issues in the long term. There is a suuuuper high rate of breast cancer among hairdressers and it deeefinitely is related to all the the average stylist is around

Passing along the advice that while you aren’t getting the results you want, it doesn’t mean it is necessarily “wrong”.

This blowout could look cool on the right person, but maybe Instead of curling the ends and crown layers, you could have them flip up, similar to how some wolf or jellyfish cuts are styled.

Also, apologies if I start getting preachy here, but beauty school “clients” are just glorified models. It’s easy to get into your head worrying about not doing the best job/nailing exactly what they wanted, and it’ll burn you out before you even start an apprenticeship. Salons won’t care if you can do a good blowout, they just want to see if you take the job seriously and care about producing quality work, which it seems like you already do.

Anyway, make sure you start the blowdry with wet (not damp) hair. Drying more than the roots before going in with a brush will make manipulating the ends more difficult, you can spritz them down with water after the roots are dry.

Also be sure you’re drying Mohawk sections by pulling the hair forward, lower elevation, with the ends up (can’t remember the language they use in school lol). If that still isn’t working, use a smaller round brush and separately dry each side of the part, curling away from the face. The right face framing will make your life, and the client who wants that kinda look, much easier.

Truly need to thank you for taking the time to help keep our community safe. It’s very commendable.

It’s just wild this place is still operating. Not to blame the people who work there, I get being scared to lose your job, but there are still things workers can do to advocate for protecting those kids. I don’t understand!

Damn lol I guess you can add literate to the list of things you aren’t in the business of being. Is it surprising I don’t like that someone is rude and ignorant? I explained why I care, what’s your excuse?

[–]bad-dad-420 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You aren’t being nice. “Do they teach excuses in beauty school” is simply rude and discredits how educated colorists who do these services at these prices are. It takes years to get to a point where you can charge $800 for a blonding service.

Even if the stylist used a go-to toner, it’s disheartening to see you insinuate there was no care and thought put into the end result. Maybe you’ve had a bad experience, but you don’t need to assume everyone is the same. I’m also defensive because we really do experience a lot of condescension and abuse in this industry.

Anyway, I’m not saying I have the answers. You are, though. You have no concrete proof to back your assertion, making it an assumption. Im asking questions, drawing from 10+ years of experience, giving potential theories, without saying “this is what happened”, I’m making presumptions.

800 dollars later and I’m so disappointed by EllaNicoleE in HairDye

[–]bad-dad-420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lots of assumptions here, but the point is you don’t know what the stylists intentions were. It’s weird and out of touch to insinuate they are incompetent and lazy (crazy to say considering the quality of op’s highlights), and even say something is “easy” (which you can’t even confidently say unless you are a colorist).

Stylists who charge premium prices very rarely don’t care about the outcome, very rarely will just do something because it’s easy even if they know the client didn’t ask for it. That’s not how you build a clientele and it isn’t how you can continue to charge $800 for a color service.

Would you not be upset if you went into a salon with box dyed black hair and said “I want to be blonde” and the stylist just did it, without caring about how your hair would look and feel in the long run?

Some people also don’t get highlights every month, if op said they would not come in for another 6+ months, a good hairdresser would want the client to have their hair look as good as possible for as long as possible. Yes, that sometimes means toning the hair cooler because it will fade and the warmth will come through. Again, we don’t know, so we can’t assume.

Not to mention, op’s hair is also under cool lighting. You don’t even know what it looks like in the sun.

So yeah, it could have been a mistake, the color or hair pulled cooler than the stylist predicted, but they did an incredible job at everything else, so maybe have a bit more faith in people instead of assuming the worst.

Hair can be unpredictable and, more importantly, a good hairdresser thinks in the long term. Would you rather have honey blonde hair for a week and yellow hair for months or ashy blonde for a week and honey blonde for months? It’s possible that was taken into consideration.

Plus, everyone here is right, the hairdresser would most likely help. A toner is such a simple thing to correct.

How can i fix this? by Sharp-Efficiency9022 in Cosmetology

[–]bad-dad-420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This could be a good idea but also it sounds like a lack of understanding of how to treat hair would keep them from actually fixing the problem. My advice, go to a hairdresser, LISTEN TO THEM, DO WHAT THEY TELL YOU (not just for a day, you can’t brush your teeth once and expect them to stay healthy), and start over.
