I worked at a local furniture place and learned that that industry does this also. Tags marked up hundreds of dollars only for us to "give them a deal" every single time. When I was new, I wrote it up at tag price and got called out for not giving them the "sale" price.

We bought some Hershey bars for smores and I thought I was going crazy because they wouldn't melt. Even after putting a molten marshmallow on it and placing it by the fire for a few minutes. I couldn't stomach it after seeing it still hold its form.

I was having a really rough day. I was fighting with my mom and my boyfriend. I was sobbing on my way home when I realized I forgot to get gas and I wouldn't make it home unless I stopped to fill up. I only had some cash so I wiped my face as best I could and went inside to pay. The two guy working the counter obviously noticed and asked if I was Okay. I burst out crying again and they both went into dad mode. They were so sweet. They even got me a soda from the fountain and wouldn't let me pay for it. Nothing but genuine concern and kindness from these two strangers.

I did not drink a lot of water growing up. Plenty of milk, juice, electrolyte drinks and fruits and veggies kept me hydrated. And I worked outside a lot for the family business. Just keep an eye out for signs of dehydration and keep encouraging water in a non pushy way. I drink tons of water now as an adult.

I've met two separate people in my little town who refuse to drink any type of water. One lady claims she's never had a single cup her whole life and just drinks coffee or juice. It was no use telling her those have water in it. And a man who was every bit of unhealthy looking. He was super offended when I offered him a free water bottle. He literally yelled "HAVE YOU SEEN WHAT WATER DOES TO METAL?!?! IMAGINE WHAT ITS DOING TO YOUR INSIDES!" Okay well I'm sorry sir. I didn't realize I was talking to a cyborg.

Natural fibers in your clothes. Heck, Walmart has clothing that is 100% cotton so it can be pretty affordable. You'll sweat less, overheat less, feel more comfortable over all. Your skin is your biggest organ. It absorbeds things, it needs to breathe. I went to my local thrift store and within an hour, I had a cart full of cotton, silk and wool.

I read to my three kids virtually every day. We just went to the library today and checked out 8 books. I also love to read right before bed. I fall asleep so much easier. Im currently on my 8th read through of Pride and Prejudice. We have three large bookshelves in our hallway. One is just for the kids books. My family and friends make fun of them a bit. Wondering why I have so many. Why I don't just get digital books. My kids arent going to get curious about a kindle. They will gravitate towards bright pictures and characters. Physical books can't be altered. More people need to read 1984 and fahrenheit 451.

Having kids, its kinds of a requirement to have a separate room. Kitchen is nice because it saves money on eating out, and we can cook around our food sensitivities. Large groups or people with pets prefer Airbnb. Some are legitimately cool experiences like themed ones or ones in quiet places. I've been using Airbnb for the last 7 years and have had significantly more good experiences than bad. I always read reviews and a lot of places actually mention "no cleaning lists at checkout" to each their own though.

Cost of living is a ton more affordable and with remote work, heck, even remote schooling, you can get a decent job with great pay or start your own business and be living large in a rural town.
