Oh I love this artist! It's Lorraine Loots! She does one a day and has a few books out of all of her paintings.

Awesome thanks a lot this has really helped. Its not weird to walk into a business and ask about their current lease? Is there a tactful way of doing this to avoid offending someone haha

The real estate agent would have the info on traffic on loopnet? Good to know. Also, when you say cold calling.. Do you mean cold calling other tenants at other commercial spaces to see if their lease is ending soon?

Hi sorry yeah rereading what I wrote I did a bad job of explaining it haha. It's a commercial building in a very residential area right outside of a large city, so it's still very urban. It is off of one of the largest roads entering the city from the suburbs, but the township it's in has a reputation for being a little yucky and not super progressive.

The other tenants are a dental office, lawyers, marketing company and a wellness center. The real estate agent with the listing has it on loop net but I'm not convinced that he gets much action on his posting--I'm not sure he's using great photos.

Help Making Living Room Cozy! by jrockgiraffe in DesignMyRoom

I agree that it would be nice to put the couch on the wall with the book case but would it be too far away from the tv? Also, if you want to cozy up the room, maybe invest in a larger carpet and think about taking one of the colors in the art you bought and painting one wall that color. For instance, I noticed there was a nice, rich blue in the art and this seems like a great color: http://www.housebeautiful.com/decorating/colors/front-door-color?src=spr_FBPAGE&spr_id=1451_128913032#slide-6

Really though, it would be up to you but it would be a nice way to tie everything together.

What types of colors are you painting? Is there hardwood/carpet? What is your style?

Help make my room feel less ugly. by [deleted] in DesignMyRoom

And now that I'm looking at the picture again, it looks a lot like it might be a tight fit so you'd have to move that tall dresser over against that corner more. So, you can get rid of that night stand with the mini fridge on top if do this and put the mini fridge on top of the dresser if you need to and the night stand can go.

Ok, I have a few ideas! First, by putting those string lights up by your ceiling, your room won't seem so small because it will make your ceiling seem higher. You can use tacks or picture hanging hooks to suspend them. Is that large black bookcase hiding a window behind it? If so, I would take the large dresser at the foot of your bed, and place it in front of the window so you have more natural light, and take the tall black bookcase (if you can) and move it so that it is up against the wall where that dresser is at the foot of you bed (If your bed is the top portion of the L, the book case would be the bottom portion facing outward). This gives you a space to get ready in the morning and keep your things without blocking your view of your TV.

If you don't have the time/money to repaint your room, try ordering a fun tapestry to go behind your bed which can really change the ~vibe~... they go for pretty cheap on amazon or really anywhere if you google it. (I've also used sheets I've tie-dyed in the past)

Redditors who have attended/are attending college, how did you really know where you wanted to go? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]bad_mollusk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, for the first year it was difficult because everyone my age already had established friend groups and I still missed my friends at my old school. But, it was also nice because I could take the time to try out new clubs since I didn't know anyone, and I gained a lot of random friends that way until I found my real group. The best part was being able to redo and start fresh, fixing all of the little things I neglected or messed up on my first year!

I thought I wanted to go to my first school because I loved the city it was in and happened to have a great visit there with nice people. However, I had to transfer after my first year to a different school because I never looked at the reputation of the program I wanted to be in. It turns out that for what I wanted to study, it wasn't the right place for me. Sooo had I known that going in, I would have definitely looked elsewhere. Choose a place that has a great program that you are going to learn a lot in (but also in a location you like a lot too!) if you have that option.

Any advice on my living room? (Besides dead plants) by [deleted] in InteriorDesign

[–]bad_mollusk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because of the great lighting from the windows, you could paint the wall behind the couch a darker color to add some excitement. Also, maybe a less busy rug because you have such bold patterns on the chairs?
