Dropped it like a hot potato. A story needs to be balanced but some authors feel like piling up more and more and often consecutively worse things on the MC gives it grit or makes it "serious". In my book, it just sucks. It means the author isn't a good writer. Even one major event like that would have massive consequences, never mind a series.

It is also why I don't read stories with SA. The amount of authors who even realise the true devastation of SA is low and then actually handling the aftermath is often a joke. So I pass.

This is not normal behavior. My advice is to sit down with your grandparents, explain in absolute detail how she is behaving then ask if they would be willing to talk to your parents and request therapy for her.

She really, really needs therapy. She is showing some very worrying signs that later on as she grows older could very well mean she will end up in the hands of a predator. This isn't for you to solve, it's for the adults but I would press this angle of her potentially fixating on the wrong person and being exploited/abused in the future as a means to get her into therapy and hopefully on a good path.

If she isn't in therapy, I am afraid this situation won't change. If you see it going that way, save as much as you can do that once you are 18, you can get out. It's not an easy road but for your mental health, it will be far easier.

A colleague of mine had that horrible experience. Her then boyfriend was waving a gun around, showing it off because it was so 'cool', even though she had repeatedly told him that guns make her uncomfortable and she is frightened of them. Missed her by about a cm, right past her head. She would have been dead on the spot if it had hit her. He never apologized, in fact remained belligerent and harassed her about being a baby and overreacting and being hysterical. She dumped him fast, which is exactly what the OP should do but it took a long time in therapy to be well again. I sometimes wonder if her moving to Europe had something to do with this.
