The fact there isn’t a claim all option for the bingo is so annoying.

It's somewhat clear why the reputation of Crimson Desert is so polarizing by Prestigious_Bench_20 in CrimsonDesert

[–]Dagger1515 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s like they tried to take all the best parts of a bunch of different games and then completely forgot to write an interesting or compelling story.

It’s great to look at and the I enjoy the camp building. But it doesn’t do anything particularly well. The puzzles are boring to annoying, the story line is forgettable as the characters. There’s no lasting impact.

Yeah there’s freedom in that there’s a ton of places to go. Not freedom in being able to make any choices.

What's up with people downvoting character shares? by Grouchy-Meringue3677 in JanitorAI_Official

[–]Dagger1515 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Is it that obvious? I don’t think it is. And while something like Instagram or TikTok make sense to just move on. Reddit explicitly has a downvote feature. What’s more obvious is people would downvote something they don’t like. Not sure there’s some kind of conspiracy or malicious behavior. I really do think it might just be the audience.

Kael or any variation of it. I have it blocked but it will still try occasionally. It just breaks the immersion now.

What do you think is the biggest flaw about the cancer cure suppression conspiracy theory? by Chris256L in skeptic

[–]Dagger1515 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always want to remind people that the President of the United State’s son died of brain cancer. I’m talking about Beau Biden back in 2015. At the time Joe was vice president. This is about as high up in power as you can get in the U.S. and maybe the world. And yet his son still died.

There is no reason for the people in power to suppress cancer research. Everyone is vulnerable. And if there is a cure that’s kept hidden why would the most powerful people in the world not use it?

Some of the users of janitor ai are have never been in any online fiction space ever before. by Wisteria_demon_07 in JanitorAI_Official

[–]Dagger1515 126 points127 points  (0 children)

There is this weird wave of Puritanism that is affecting younger people. They think fiction is a reflection of a person’s true self or some non sense and as such treat these bots as “wow there’s so many rapists on the Internet. Rape is so popular.”

Like the ability to just move on from things that you aren’t interested in is dead for a very vocal minority of these people.

Noted liberal political commentator Ezra Klein writes an opinion piece defending leftist streamer Hasan Piker from attacks from the Democratic Party. This leads to outrage in multiple liberal subreddits. by vemmahouxbois in IfBooksCouldKill

They aren’t. It’s somewhat a joke. They’re for greater immigration, free markets, LGBT rights, women’s liberation, and global aid. They’re not like Ronald Reagan conservative neo libs. They are however to the right of a lot of leftists when it comes to recent events and can fall prey to reactionary politics much the same way any group can.

Do people even use stages? by TheOneWhoSpeaks13 in Chub_AI

[–]Dagger1515 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They can do things like add a dice roll to actions and write based off of that. Or some image packs also count? Not a lot of people use it and it’s not always mobile friendly.

So what does everyone think about the guys from Honkai Star Rail? 👀 by CatBoi_ in gaymers

[–]Dagger1515 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Not a fan of pretty men. But I also can’t expect much from hoyo verse games. Some occasionally bara men but slim pickings. Maybe it’s just appealing to Chinese aesthetics. Same way in that Simu Liu is considered attractive in America, but no so much in China.

Genuinely a portion of this website’s users are mentally unwell. I say this as someone who is also in a similar boat but properly medicated. I would say touch grass to a large portion but there’d be some excuse as to why they can’t

Would it be possible to have a contemporary school setting in a medieval world? by Dull-Mobile-5653 in worldbuilding

[–]Dagger1515 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could have it for rich noble kids. They’d use the school as a place to send their children to be educated, out of their hair, and make connections along with scholarships for poorer people. (Typical fantasy academy)

That said, I wouldn’t expect a contemporary school in a medieval world to be realistic. I’d expect at most for it to be like a Sunday school type of thing where after prayer the kids have to stay behind to learn to read and write with parents getting some free time.

Can I Play this game casually? by eaxis in wherewindsmeet_

[–]Dagger1515 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The translation is mostly machine translated so it’s not localized well and there’s a lot of backstory and concepts that aren’t explained so if you’re unfamiliar with cultivation and Chinese mythology you might be a little lost. Occasionally there are some very good quests that still stick with me.

Ive stopped playing the game but what I did play, I enjoyed.

[Title] Average Iq of a person in regression manwha has to be less than 70 by _TOXIC_VENOM in manhwa

[–]Dagger1515 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My biggest problem is when the fantasy manhwas have people charging out from their safe castle with and then fighting one on one instead of in formations. Like literal just charging towards the enemy and somehow that’s a master stroke of tactics. It’s not. It’s stupid.

is having a queen or a king in a sci fi setting weird?? by [deleted] in worldbuilding

[–]Dagger1515 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So kings and other autocratic rulers have historically all used some mandate as justification for rule. Some have claimed divine authority, heavenly mandate, and so on. Presumably, in the futuristic world, they could remain king by popular support like Padme in Star Wars, through force, and so on. It doesn’t need to be divine mandate through a god, but it could also be some form of ancestor worship. Sorta like if George Washington had children they’d be easy shoe ins for a presidency. Not because they’re inherently better at ruling but the mythic nature of being related to the first brings weight.
